It's pretty stupid that they put weather conditions as a stipulation for some hunts. I'm basically going to need blind luck to complete the damn thing, since it rarely seems to rain in my game.

Found my way to the arena in Altissia before jumping in the shower this morning. Lost 2 bets and won another. I can see this becoming addicting.

The frog hunt? Yeah that was the last one I did. I ended up going to the area it appears in the morning and farming AP nearby. Within about 45 minutes it started to rain. So maybe I got lucky, hard to say.

The best fishing reel is only available through the arena prizes, so I've gotta earn enough for that.

Been doing literally every side quest I can get my hands on. Level 30 and I'm not even halfway done with chapter 4. Doing odd jobs for Vys paid off because he gave me a tip to a Royal Arms tomb. Won't say what or anything, but if you're trying to collect all of them do Vys' missions.

Having fun betting at the arena. Ended up with a decent group of monsters that led to me being able to bet the max when a group of "dogs" showed up. Or the occasional Ronin. Had to deal with a more unpredictable group this morning in a quick pre-work session. The dog-like creatures weren't as effective as the 'tusks from last night. Still pushed my total medals to over 800K.

The guy you have to follow to the disc bugs me. I came here just to post the same thing. He's just such a creep, trying to get people to ride in the car with him and s*it. I half expected them to catch the guy sniffing through their clothes, or beating off over Prompto while everyone was asleep when he suggested they suddenly stay the night at that rest stop (even though it was still early morning during the mission for me). I haven't moved the mission any further, so I'm curious to see what his deal is.

He'll bug you a lot more. Finally caught the Liege of the Lake before moving on to the end game, and am doing some of the post-game stuff now. Jeez, these creatures are tough. Those Tonberry Knights gave me hell.

Just curious, have any of you really put the royal arms to use? I've picked up about 4 of them, but haven't really used the things. It's a little strange how somewhat insignificant weapons/armor are in the game. I'm sure I'll unlock a few more things as I progress, but it feels a bit strange being leveled in the mid-40's and only having upgraded my weapons/accessories a handful of times.

That is one aspect of the game that I was disappointed in. As I progressed more I used them more often. Some enemies pretty much require them. I tended to use the weapon auto switch accessory, and keep a royal arm or two equipped with my main weapon.

I found the Royal Arms very useful, especially when you unleash hell on tough enemies with the Arminger combo. As individual weapons, they all have their strengths and weaknesses, although costing health wit every blow is the biggest detractor. The Sword of the Tall is my favorite, as it deals a lot of damage and lands for several hits in one blow. Might also be the most difficult Arm to get.
Also check your accessory list often to see if you've picked up items that help you deal more damage, or protect from certain status ailments. Use your AP on the Ascension grid to increase combo attack power, add accessory slots, lower MP cost of phasing, etc.
And don't sell Noc's Engine blade like I stupidly did. Even though it's not supposed to be a sellable item, many people have sold it and you can't get it back. I had no idea it's the best or 2nd best of Noctis's swords, after a few upgrades. I've been playing too much Skyrim and Dragon Age over the last few years and have gotten a little OCD about how many items I carry around.

The first one, the double sword, I use quite frequently. I use that, or if I have a more troublesome enemy I'll use my upgraded two hander to I can warp.

Woke up early this morning, so I fired up the PS4 and fought the Naglfar. Lots of non-stop warp attacks using the The Sword of the Tall was a big help, along with the combos and a couple of Arminger attacks, and a way-too-early summon of Shiva. Took a good 45 minutes, but the beast went down. Hunted a bounty that was nearby, then went back to Altissia and stayed at the suite that gives 3X exp bonus and leveled up from 71 to 79.

A rare platinum for me! Still have a couple of other dungeons to unlock and explore, but it's time to take a break for a bit.

I'm a bit over 60 hours into the game on chapter 8. I just finished the last side quest for Dino in that lengthy castle/dungeon. My guys are at level 60, with 50k in experience building up for me to double up at one of the hotels. I'm also sitting on almost 700 AP, believe it or not, and I haven't really pushed my guys far on the ascension board. I'm not sure whether to invest it into 3rd accessory slots for a couple of the guys, or just advance their abilities a bit.
As I advance a little further into the game, I can't help but be incredibly conflicted over this title. I've put all this time into it, I've enjoyed looking at the game, and I feel like I've primarily had fun doing the side stuff. But at the same time, up until now at least, I seriously can't say anything positive about the story other than that I haven't been driven to hate the main characters. I barely know whats going on, and what little I do know doesn't interest me in the slightest. I breezed through the last couple of chapters in an hour or so, and it's all a boring blur to me.
Again, it's not necessarily that any of the characters in the story are bad. But there's just so little meat on the bones here when it comes to story. It's like anything that's important already occurred off screen without my involvement. And I'm supposed to care about a bunch of important aspects of the story merely because they say so, not because I've actually interacted with anything. At almost halfway through, I feel like I could count the important story events on one hand. I'll hold off on ranting too much until I finish the game, but they're going to have to do a hell of a lot more than show some flashy cut scenes in the later half to make this story interesting for me.
