Actually they did wrestle one on one on a PPV. The Wrestling Classic 85, Hulk Hogan beat Roddy Piper by DQ in a WWE Title match. totally forgot about wrestling classic. It happens, brother! That PPV gets forgotten by WWE in general haha I remember reading up on that PPV, and that Vince McMahon didn't even hype it during the weekly syndicated TV show. So it was kind of a 'if ya know' type deal for people who watched/ordered it, because the WWE didn't hype it at all!

Mr. Perfect vs. The British Bulldog for the IC Title is one too. I remember they were feuding from right after Wrestlemania VII right up to SummerSlam 91 on house shows or WWE TV taping shows. And then all of a sudden it was announced that Bret Hart was getting the match with Perfect at SummerSlam. And Bulldog got put into that six man tag to face his old 1991 PPV rival... The Warlord!! They did that a lot during that time period.
I remember Ted Dibiase costing Texas Tornado the IC title in late 90 and it seemed like they would feud heading into the Rumble yet they went with Dibiase/Virgil vs The Rhodes Family.
I do remember that! I do believe they had like two matches on MSG house shows, one in January and then in February... something like that. But Ted and Kerry did work against each other, just never on TV, or PPV. Earthquake vs. Andre too. I remember Jimmy Hart wanted them to be a tag team, but Quake attacked Andre instead, and that is when Typhoon turned and went heel. So I think if Andre was healthy enough, SummerSlam 91 could have been Earthquake vs. Andre perhaps.

Warrior Vs Papa Shango was supposed to happen at Summerslam 92 but their matches on the house show circuit got real bad reactions so they nixed it.
As corny as that feud was I actually enjoyed it. It was cheesy as hell but I was interested to see what was going to happen week to week.

Yeah it did look like they were building to a Quake vs Andre match but his health at that time was really going down hill. That match would've been a sight to see for sure.
They advertised Andre for the 91 Rumble but he got hurt right before the event. Imagine him and Taker in the ring together.

Big Boss Man vs. Rick Rude never happened either in 1990 or 1991, with Rude leaving the WWE at the time. I remember they were building up to that with how Bobby Heenan dissed Boss Man's mom constantly.

Rude leaving was a bummer as a match with the Boss Man would of been great.
Side note here but the perfect ending(no pun intended) to that great feud should of been Boss Man winning the IC Title at WM 7. Another drop the ball moment on WWF's part.

It would have been cool for Boss Man to have won it that night, and even dropped it back to Perfect a month later at the SNME show. Instead Perfect won that battle royal at that event, but that was a really damn good battle royal! haha

Now that's a 3 man team I liked.

The Piper/Rude feud deserved better too than it got. All it had was the Survivor Series 89 elimination blow off. They had a great cage match from MSG. Its on the Piper DVD set that came out years ago.

Besides Hogan/Savage, my favorite feud from 89.
They could of easily had that match happen at WM 6. The build though was awesome especially on that PTW episode in August 89 when they had to be pulled back by Monsoon and Heenan.

No no, for Wrestlemania VI had to have Piper vs. Bad News and Rude destroying Snuka apparently. Speaking of Wrestlemania VI, a little interesting trivia for ya. Tito Santana lost to The Barbarian at WM VI and then The Warlord at SSlam 90. So he jobbed two PPVs in a row to the Powers of Pain haha Also, SummerSlam 90 was supposed to be Tito Santana vs. Rick Martel in a one on one match, but Martel was 'away doing a fashion shoot' so my guess is he got injured.

I miss the classic feuds from the old days. They gave time to build up and most of the time they had a great conclusion. Even if they didn't the feud itself would still be highly entertaining.
I REALLY miss those days. Best time to be a fan IMO.

By 90, Tito was used mainly as a jobber to the stars. He was a great hand in the ring though and his selling was top notch. that clothesline he took at WM 6 looked devastating.

Its rather easy to sell a clothesline like that when you legit get your head taken off with it haha I do remember it, it was brutal! We never got the Sid Justice vs. Jake Roberts PPV feud either. It would have happened at SSeries 91 if Sid was healthy.

You can make it 3.... the Earthquake feud! You just don't let a man sit on your snake and kill it and not want revenge!

And the Quake feud as well that's right. They just quietly ended that feud for some reason. What a stupid decision

Hogan vs Perfect could of easily been a PPV match. I liked their mini feud in late 89/early 90. — Jericho vs. Shamrock never got a PPV match either in mid-late 99 right? Seemed like that would have been perfect for Unforgiven, but I'm guessing something happened with Shamrock since they did the big payoff on the Smackdown before the PPV and we never saw Ken again. Actually Jericho and Shamrock wrestled in a cage match at Unforgiven 99 ppv, which also happened to be Shamrock's final WWE match.
