We got gipped on 2 great Jake feuds with him against Sid/Warrior. You can make it 3.... the Earthquake feud! You just don't let a man sit on your snake and kill it and not want revenge! No no what you do is plan to team up with him at survivor series a few months later!! Lol Forgot about rude v Piper! Just think mania 6 could have had rude v Piper in a cage to finish that with rude winning and going on to face warrior at summerslam - bad news could have faced superfly And tito could have faced martel - (with koko v barbarian instead) and 2 big feud blow offs could have added to Wrestlemania 6, such a shame they missed out on them

Ravishing Rick Rude and the big bossman springs to mind, around October 1990, Rick Rude starting slagging off the bossman's mother, the 2 were literally just about to feud, and then Jack Tunney suspended Rude for his nasty comments (although in reality Rude was heading to WCW).
at the 1991 royal rumble where big bossman meets barbarian in a singles match, I often wonder whether barbarian was Rude's replacement. I'm almost positive that match was originally planned for Rude V Bossman.

Good call on the missed match up but Rude left before survivor series 90 so I doubt they had a rumble match planned for him that far in advance. Also he didn't leave wwe for wcw it was a rumoured contract/money dispute. He didn't go to wcw until Halloween havoc 91 nearly a year later

I'm pretty sure there was one this year but can't remember the participants.

I was thinking about the Flair/Perfect feud from late 92/early 93 and if Flair never left for WCW they could of easily had a match at WM 9.

If Paul London and Akios Velocity feud concluded with a match on PPV and given a good amount of time they probably would've stole the show.

Was there ever a one-on-one PPV match between Hogan and Orndorrf? PPV was new back then, but that should have been the main event for WM2. They drew big houses everywhere (including 60,000+ in Toronto in '86 for the "Big Event") and was a big deal every time they squared off for a couple of years until they had the blow off during an SNME.

No they never did a match on ppv although sure there was a rumour that it was the back up for mania 3 if Andre couldn't wrestle

No I don't think they ever had a one on one PPV match. I would have loved to see that. I also would have loved to see the Piper vs Snuka feud on a PPV card, but that feud was pretty much done by the first WrestleMania. I think the Muraco vs Steamboat and Santana vs Valentine would have been great feuds to see on PPV's as well.

Christian/Cena from 2005. They fought in a triple threat at Vengeance 2005 with Jericho but never had a one on one PPV match. Jericho was originally suppose to feud with Carlito before leaving but wanted to work with Cena instead, which left Christian as the third wheel before being dropped from the feud immediately after Vengeance.

Yeah good point - I forgot about those 2. although they did kind of meet a little bit (they were beating each other up in the actual 93' rumble match) but yeah I know what you mean, they never actually made it to a PPV singles match 1 on 1.

The "Marky Mark" promo from Christian is still one of my favorites.

Stone Cold/Tazz in 2001.
I remember when Austin would run Tazz down every week and distinctly remember when Austin ripped Tazz's shirt off and the crowd was just fuming for Tazz to destroy him. And at this time, Tazz still had some credibility left in his character - and there was no payoff. If built right, they could've had a ppv match.

Austin was having quality matches during his heel run. Yeah most of them ended in a schmoz , but that doesn't take anything away from his SummerSlam 01 match with Angle....which is the best match they had.

Rowdy Roddy Piper and the million dollar man in 1991 - once Pipers leg had healed, wasn't he and Dibiase supposed to meet? because I remember wrestlemania 7 Dibiase and Sherri assaulting Pipers leg, then at summerslam 91 - Piper wanted Virgil to win the million $ belt in his match with Dibiase.
I'm almost certain Piper and Dibiase were supposed to meet, but never did, unless of course they had their match on an episode of prime time wrestling or superstars and I missed it. But they certainly never had a singles match at a PPV.

Big Boss Man vs. Ted DiBiase
That feud was never on a PPV, and I figured it would have happened at SummerSlam 90, but Boss Man was a referee for Bad News vs. Snake Roberts, and was in Hulk Hogan's corner. And Ted was there, but he was taking Sapphire from Dusty Rhodes.
Was Ted injured I wonder during that time frame??

It was just most likely them changing their mind and going in a new direction for both guys.
