Christian/Cena from 2005. They fought in a triple threat at Vengeance 2005 with Jericho but never had a one on one PPV match. Jericho was originally suppose to feud with Carlito before leaving but wanted to work with Cena instead, which left Christian as the third wheel before being dropped from the feud immediately after Vengeance. Man, I loved christian in 2004/2005. Wish he wouldn't have left for TNA then, though I don't blame him.

Did we ever get a Jake Roberts vs Hulk Hogam feud? That just seems like easy money

Steve Austin vs Brian Pillman from 96-97 WWF. They were on opposing teams at IYH Canadian Stampede, but I do not recall them having a one on one PPV match considering Austin broke Pillmans leg, and Pillman pulling a gun on Austin afterwards.

They were building to a match at KOTR 97 but it never came to be as I believe Pillman was injured so they went with Austin/HBK.
It's a shame Pillman died so young as imagine the matches he could of had with Austin during the Attitude Era.

I wouldn't call it a house show feud. They only worked together twice before the plug got pulled.

Not sure if they faced off later in WCW, but I always thought we'd see a PPV headlined by Bret Hart vs Lex Luger in the WWF when they were both battling for the top babyface spot.
Bret was the clear popular vote especially after Luger lost his steam following both SummerSlam '93 and Wrestlemania X. I always thought that would have been a great opportunity to put the two against each other with Luger turning heel during their match. Bitter at the fans for never really supporting him, it would've been a great way for Luger to regain some much-needed momentum and maybe shed the forced USA gimmick.

I remember them teasing a match between the two stemming from Luger knocking him out with the forearm during the WM 9 brunch(Coliseum Home Video exclusive BTW). They talked about it on SStars and Challenge right after but nothing came to be.

I remember them teasing a match between the two stemming from Luger knocking him out with the forearm during the WM 9 brunch(Coliseum Home Video exclusive BTW). They talked about it on SStars and Challenge right after but nothing came to be. I know they had several house show matches, but again, no TV time. I always felt if Vince decided to keep the Belt on Hart, it would've been him and the Narcissist at KOTR. For me, the 2 biggest feuds without PPV matches were : Ultimate Warrior vs Undertaker : Christ, they built this up for months only to go nowhere. I believe in no small part to most of their house show matches absolutely being the suck. Hogan vs Flair : To this day, it still boggles the mind how Vince let this go. Granted ,there are a myriad of possible reasons for this due to rumors that flew over the decades ( Hogan's steroid trouble, Sid's contract, them not jelling during house show matches ), but really, come on. THE dream matchup of all time, and you don't book it? I remember it being one of the few things Hulk and Ric readily agreed upon - that having this match at WrestleManai would draw huge money, and be the shot in the arm the WWF needed. I also remember that both were absolutely flabbergasted when Vince decided to go another way.
