Welcome back. I sometimes think of quitting because my wallet never gets a chance to breathe, but I think IT, at least I am not doing drugs. Collecting these figures saved me from drugs. Every time I look at them, I'm reminded of how close I came to certain death. So while I don't have the same zeal for it as I once did, I still do collect them. I don't know that I'll ever stop. At least until we get the Hollywood DM.

I few months ago, I rented a climate-controlled storage and moved my collection there along with other collectibles and in the way objects until I move. I can say, afterwards, I really don't think about them until I read the forum or get pre-order emails and shipments. Now, every couple of shipments I just take them to storage. The notion has come over me a few times, "What if I just sold my collection?" Then I just brush it off...

True story.....About 10 years ago I had a huge collection of Classic Superstars & different series WWE figures that took up my whole entire computer room & that I had literally spent thousands on, then my first wife & I got divorced....I bagged up my entire collection in garbage bags (except a few select figures) drove them to the green box at a local car wash, threw them in & drove away never looking back.....foolish yes I know....but today I have another smaller collection that I've put together very meticulously & I enjoy this one SO much more & my wife now isn't a bitch about it like before....Still to this day, I cringe when I think of how I could've probably sold my first collection for so much money & how much money I threw away that day but you live, learn & grow up......if your lucky.

I allowed my mom to sell my entire MOTU collection at a garage sale when I was about 10 and ended up making $12 off them. So yeah...

My moc collection is just in storage too (though not climate controlled) I never pay them any attention. I just got Rse sting yesterday and already it's in storage. Harlem heat will be part of my sons toy collection so I'm excited that he will be opening those on Christmas. The ones I look forward to most now are the ones that he will get to open. Goldust will be another one but he may have to wait until his birthday for that

Doesn't sound like you're having a lot of fun with it.

Haha No, I never collected before three years ago and started because my son was going to get his first action figure for Christmas and I got to choose what action figure line he got. It's the most fun thing for me to play with him because I have a hard time enjoying playing toys. I keep separate set extra moc that are a lot of different attires to the ones my son gets. Those are spares in case he brakes any or they completely are all scuffed. Yes, I am obsessive about what I select for the two collections I have. It's a way to keep it all minimal so my wife tolerates it. Im sure I'll be done with this hobby when he grows out of it.

Good to hear. Im thinking of doing away with my collection, but I just bought a loose E17 Mankind and Loose DM Bret HART for a total of less than 40 bucks on the Bay. So I won't have to open up my MOC E17 Mankind. Also got 2 copies of TRU Rollins of Amazon, such a steal to me. But Im quitting being roommates with the folks to have a place with my girl who's 9 weeks baking a baby. I could use the plastic exchange for a currency exchange. But I'm debating. Glad you got to keep your stuff though man!

Setting my collections up in my extra room I'm planning on just for collectibles and my game/movie room. Then, I will enjoy just the time I spend on setting the room up and being able to share a finished visual with my son and for visitors to spectate...

I know that I will stop collecting at some point, but I really fear selling my collection. So I have decided that if I stop I will never, not ever sell my collection. This allows me to be able to stop collecting whenever I want, at ease.

By collecting Mattel flashbacks, I almost feel like I'm enjoying my last big hurrah as a wrestling fan who grew up in the 80's and 90's. The quality of the figures, the ever-growing list of names, and just the anticipation of waiting for new figures to come out or be announced brings back those old feelings. When I actually acquire those figures, it's like that part of me is satisfied. I've captured that history and those feelings in this 6 inch plastic man. My desire to keep buying them might come and go, but there will always be something about just having the figures that makes me feel complete as a wrestling fan.

I like what you said about having wrestling figures makes you feel "complete" as a wrestling fan. I think that counts for me too. As long as I've been a wrestling fan, I've always bought figures. It seems like they almost go hand in hand. I've gone months without buying sometimes, but like this Black Friday, I spent a lot to catch up on all the Mattel goodness. My passion for professional wrestling is never going away, so I can bet my passion for wrestling figures will never go away either. There's just too much to love!

Me too - were in the last days of being an old school wrestling fan. Everyone's dead or useless practically...that;s why we've gotten our wrestlers over the a/e guys. There's plenty of time left for all those guys to come out.

Feel the same all the time, just wanting to stop all together and get rid of everything. But then Ringside Fest or SDCC comes around and you see all the new good stuff coming up and you get sucked right back in.
