With wwe superstars being cancelled again I thought it would be fun to talk about your memories of the original superstars programme. So what's your favourites: The Vince and jesse broadcast team? Mean Gene's updates? Interview slots Brother love, pipers pit, funeral parlour and the angles that happened? The debuts of new stars? Title changes?
I used to watch that show every week without fail. Loved it also enjoyed the vince, Piper, Macho broadcast team and the angles they were involved with - flair arriving, the warrior / taker funeral parlour. Then there's Andres heel turn, quake attacking hogan, rude/Jake, Jake/martel, nailz debut so many memories. How bout you?

I was watching the Nailz debut today. Boss Man sold the beating brilliantly. It was a great debut for a gimmick that didn't have a long shelf life to begin with.
Mcmahon and Mr. Perfect were an underrated announce team as well. Perfect was great in the heel role.

Mcmahon and Mr. Perfect were an underrated announce team as well. Perfect was great in the heel role. It was a really effective debut - shame he didn't do much more than punch and kick but it made sense. I'm a massive Perfect fan, Loved it when he was on commentary, that pen flip and catch he did when vince said his name each week used to crack me up - and obviously its something I had to practise and do too lol

I’m not sure how it was in other areas, but back then I used to watch Wrestling Challenge, followed by SuperStars Of Wrestling immediately after on Saturdays from 11 AM to 1 PM. What a great time to start practicing McMahonism. I have so many fond memories of that time period, but I wouldn’t be able to tell you which show these events took place at. Some of my favorites include:
The pre-taped Survivor Series teams’ interviews, specifically 1989, 1990, and 1991 were amazing. The 1989 interviews pretty much made me a fan for life.
The initial Ultimate Challenge announcement, and then the next announcement stating that both the WWF World Heavyweight Championship Title Belt and the WWF Intercontinental Championship Title Belt are both on the line. It was good enough that it was Champion vs. Champion, but Title vs. Title!? My heart exploded that day!!
Mr. Perfect destroying the WWF World Heavyweight Championship Title Belt is something I’ll never forget. I was so mad until a new Winged Eagle was made.
The debut of the Ultimate Maniacs was something I waited for. I really hoped Hulk Hogan would join them, seeing as how the used the red and yellow color scheme, but we all know how that storyline went.
...and many more...

I am not sure if some of this stuff was on Wrestling Challenge or Superstars of Wrestling, so I am just gonna name it all off, because both shows were really amazing during that era of WWE.
- Randy Savage dropping the bell on Steamboat's throat - Hart Foundation winning the Tag Titles from the Bulldogs - Adrian Adonis cutting Brutus Beefcake's hair - Honky Tonk Man winning the IC Title from Steamboat - The Islanders stealing Matilda from the Bulldogs - Ron Bass slicing up Beefcake's forehead with spears - Honky Tonk Man bashing Bret Hart in the head with a guitar - The Rougeau Brothers taking a microphone to the throat of Shawn Micahels - Randy Savage and Sherri attacking Beefcake on the Brother Love Show and cutting his hair - Demolition beating the Brain Busters for the Tag Titles - Earthquake sitting on the Warrior during a push-up contest - Mr. Perfect winning the IC Title in the finals - Mr. Perfect beating Texas Tornado for the IC Title - The Nasty Boys winning the tag team battle royal to face the champs at Wrestlemania VII - Warrior being trapped in the casket - The Mountie shocking Boss Man with the shock stick - Earthquake attacking Andre the Giant with the megaphone - Tugboat turning on The Bushwhackers to help Earthquake and the Nasty Boys - The Beverly Brothers attacking Jim Neidhart's knee - Roddy Piper nailing Vince McMahon with folding chair, thinking it was Ric Flair - The Undertaker choking out Hulk Hogan, for Savage and Piper to make the save with chairs - Randy Savage getting bit by Jake's cobra - Undertaker getting his hand stuck in the casket, only to drag it behind him as he goes after Jake Roberts - Warrior having the voodoo curse come out of his head by Papa Shango - Boss Man getting beat down by Nailz with the nightstick - The Bezerker trying to stick his sword into the Undertaker but ends up hitting the mat instead - Marty Jannetty's return, only to break a mirror over Sherri's head - The Money Inc. vs. Steiner Brothers matches from 1993 - Diesel winning the IC Title off of Razor Ramon - Shawn Michaels returning to the ring in 1995 against Tom Prichard - Dean Douglas vignettes - Dean Douglas beating the 123 Kid in September 1995, setting up the Razor Ramon vs. Kid feud
Those are the ones that I can recall off the top of my head.

Even though Demolition lost, I was happy to see Andre get a run with the tag belts.

This may have been before it was called Superstars, but Orndorff clotheslining Hogan after the tag match in 86 and then hitting him with the pile-driver!

Great angle too. I wish they gave Orndorff a run with the World Title.

All of these are moments that we remember and are still talking about 30(!!!) year's later whereas now I can't recall what happened a week later and there is no impact as an injury one week is forgotten or down played massively.

One moment I remember VIVIDLY was Collossal Connection beating Demolition for the Tag straps around Dec 89 on Superstars......I was horrified!! That was definitely a shocker for me. Not that the Demos lost, but that they got dominated. They were also my favorite WWF team once Tully and Arn left so it stung a bit. It was nice to see Andre finally wearing some WWF gold, even though it was clear that Haku did all the work. Other favorite moments: The Savage-Steamboat ring bell angle was another memorable one. Steamboat was awesome in selling the shot to the throat. 'Taker locking Ultimate Warrior in the casket during a Funeral Parlor segment. Earthquake attacking and injuring Hogan during a Brother Love segment. Mr. Perfect winning the IC title in the tournament final vs Tito Santana.

Piper cutting Haiti Kids hair into a Mohawk. Lou Albano winning "Manager of the Year" and Bobby Heenan attacking him with the trophy. The debut of Miss Elizabeth. The whole set up on Pipers Pit for Hogan Vs Andre. Just when Andre walked out with Heenan. Piper brutalizing "Quick Draw" Rick McGraw. Roddy fighting AJ Pettruzzi with one arm behind his back.
I can go on and on. I have most the episodes from mid 1985 till the 90s on VHS tapes.

How about the Brother Love show during the fall of 89 when Rick Rude attacked Piper and threw mouth wash in his eyes. One of my favorite feuds during that time period of the WWF.

The Brother Love show, Barber Shop & Funeral parlour produced many the great moment on Superstars.
Another fond memory for me was the debut of LOD. I knew them as The Road Warriors from PWI magazine and was pumped to see them arriving when they were teased.

The LOD debut was funny as you'd think with them being such a massive signing they'd have done some vignettes for them but it was just "next week the debut of the LOD"
