So, I thought this could be a fun thread: what is your main choice for purchasing your games now?
Are you like all the young whippersnappers that choose to simply purchase a digital download, or do you still enjoy picking up a physical copy at the store (or having Amazon drop one at your door)?
Personally, I still stick with the physical games. Partially due to my crapty internet, but mainly because I just enjoy having the case/disc. Not to mention that, if something were to happen to your PSN/Xbox account, you're not going to lose access to all your games.
So, what's your preference?

Physical and it is not even close. The price of digital games on Xbox One and PS4 is ing disgusting and it blows my mind that people are actually willing to pay more and actually get less of a product.

Digital copies don't go on sale nearly as often as physical. Plus, there's the ability to trade-in or lend games to friends.

Physical, by a mile. The same goes for music and movies. I like looking at the cover art, inside booklets etc and the detail that goes into them. Plus I like walking into a store to buy a game.

Almost all my games and music are purchased digital nowadays. I will never stop buying physical copies of movies though.

Physical for mostly everything.
Digital only for cheap indies, free monthly games, etc.

This old timer definitely prefers physical copies, though I do have a decent amount of games in digital form, most recently the Skyrim remaster for PS4. So much easier than my experience at TRU last night trying to buy Final Fantasy XV. As space continues to be an issue, I'm sure more of my game purchases will be digital. I've already cut down drastically on the amount of movies I buy, getting only the MUST HAVES (superhero movies, Game of Thrones, etc.) in physical form and waiting for everything else to hit premium cable/Netflix. I don't listen to much modern music, so music purchases have been rare over the last 5 years or so, but have been mostly digital.

As a PC gamer pretty much everything is digital for me, which I quite like. Steam for example has all my games just sitting there ready to play at the click of a mouse without having to swap discs. However, I do love physical copies of things such as blu rays (of which I own over 300)

It all boils down to pricing for me, and thus far as a console gamer it's typically cheaper to continue buying physical copies. If I'm not getting a good deal on a digital title, there's little reason for me to go that route.
I personally just hate how the digital pricing on console titles is all over the place. You'll often get the great deal (although it can still sometimes be priced higher than what you'd pay at a place like Steam) during Flash Sales or big anniversary events. But more often than not, I'm seeing older titles firmly priced at $20-30. Then during a typical weekly sale, they'll maybe go down a couple of dollars, yet still be priced well above what you'd pay for the physical copy at Target, Amazon, or Gamestop.

Physical copies for me on games, music and movies. I think part of it, is growing up in pre-digital times for that kind of stuff, it's stuck with me to have the physical copies. I like to have that disc in hand to put on the shelf. The only digital games, I have are free ones that come with PS Plus every month.

I don't have a preference. It's all the same to me really.

It's all price and deal dependent. If I can get the game on the cheap physically, great. If it's digital, well I have an external HD for a reason. Whatever saves me money, the game is just as good either way.

I buy physical because it is cheaper, which should be the opposite. I can get brand new games for $48 on release day. Yet I would pay $60 to buy it digitally. I also can sell or trade the game in once I finish it (which I usually do) and get $20-$30 back as well. If I buy a digital game I pay full price, and am stuck with it forever. I buy a digital game and playing it ends up costing me less than $30 out of pocket overall.
If digital had cheaper prices, I would consider it.
As far as movies, I don't buy movies at all anymore. I don't have time to watch movies repeatedly, so owning them is pretty unnecessary. I either see it in the theater, or I rent it on Amazon or watch it on Netflix. I used to collect movies and it made no sense because I never watched them.
Music I haven't bought a physical CD in years. I buy most stuff digitally though I buy very little music these days. I am old and most of the music I want I already have. I'll buy a song here or there from Google Play, but usually it is free from my Google Survey Rewards.

You should consider digital if you have 2 PS4 systems because you can share play. It's great for games like COD. Otherwise, I'd choose physical medium.

Physical. I only get digital copies of games when they're free on Games with Gold on Xbox One.

I love getting physical games and keeping them in one place without having to scroll through a library to find them. But, more recently, I haven't been able to get to Gamestop or wherever to buy physical copies so I just purchase them digitally. Despite always buying DLC content digitally, I've only bought Overwatch and Telltale Batman, disregarding the PS2 games I copped from the store.
