I personally have no problem with this being a DM because I would just as easily order it for retail plus a few dollars more if it had been a Ringside Collectibles Exclusive instead.
I'm sure there are ways in which this could have been released as part of Elite 48, but I'm not going to entertain those thoughts now that we know it is a DM.
Shinsuke Nakamura will have his very own Mattel Elite figure and the thought of that alone sold me on it. The prototype pics and eventual MIB/loose pics are just the icing on the cake.

Lol at people saying it's a DM because of new molding. Remember elite 43 anyone? Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe both had brand new molding on pretty much everything except the boots and arms, and this was in the SAME SERIES. Nakamura easily could have and should have been a regular elite.

Gladly ordered Nakamura and the Nation 2-pk this morning. Great price on that set.

its a fantastic figure. i will purchase it for my collection at some point.
but nothing about it is "defining" and this is the most obvious attempt at a "cash grab" i think i've ever seen from mattel. and to everyone who begged and pleaded for the defining moments line to make a comeback, i hope you're happy.

Is that a new torso mold, and a new crotch mold?

If Nakamura competing in the house of the 'e isn't a defining moment in pro wrestling then I don't know what is. I'm happy with the line being a mix of modern, recent and sepia tone moments.

when has the defining moments beeN said just for legends. The 'Defining' in defining moments means a 'Defining Moment' in WWE history. SamI vs Shinsuke had to be my MOTY, it was such a good match. Plus Bill really wanted to make a Nakamura, so I guess that is why too! Well, it's never specifically been said that the DM line is just for legends - but ALL the DM figures to date have been legends (Hogan, Flair, Warrior, Austin etc.). Even the Cena DMs are Flashback/earlier versions of him (and there's no doubting Cena is a HUGE name/WWE legend). I just don't think Nakamura fits in (or really belongs) in the DM line... he could have easily fit in the regular Elite series. They've made like 7 in a line of hundreds. I never saw Trish warm, even though the rest of the wave did. Elite 41 is over distributed so Lita is easy to find, but Steph didnt come with anything, and some basic females have something. Robe like both DM Flairs, and a new title that only comes with her so far? Sounds like it sells itself. If you want a belt for Sasha, youd have to buy this one. Jeez I want a job Bill! ...maybe it's a UK/international thing - but Elite female figures seem to shelf-warm here - Trish was actually one of the worst (I do love that figure though!). The Elite AJ Lee seemed to be around for years, lol. I just wonder, outside of the hardcore collectors on here, whether a DM Charlotte would sell... it's very doubtful many parents would buy it for their kids - and most boys either don't want or wouldn't pay that much for a "girl figure". but nothing about it is "defining" and this is the most obvious attempt at a "cash grab" i think i've ever seen from mattel. Yup.

this figure makes me moist.
dont care what line they put it in, im buying it. after spending $24.99 on the rose/bunny 2-pack, dm price for this is moot.

and to everyone who begged and pleaded for the defining moments line to make a comeback, i hope you're happy. Between Sting and this... I am. Thanks for your thoughtful hopes. 😉 We just need more modern era DMs. Hell, just re-name the line if everyone is gonna complain about something being "defining".

I'm not real big on this, but I will eventually add it to the collection one of these days.
However, I wont pay more than retail for it, so if for some reason this decides to sky rocket in value, then it won't hurt me a bit for not getting it and will allow me to feel justified in passing on it.
Happy for the ones that wanted this though, but it is indeed a cash grab on Mattels part, as there's nothing really truly huge about this ... other than it's his first figure.
Hell, if that's how people are looking at it, then I expect to see a WWF Metal Debut AJ Styles DM in the future 👍

I still say they missed an opportunity with white Seth with both titles and vest for their first 'modern' DM. Maybe they still will do AJ from his title winning match (I guess the attires different than E47?) Charlotte w/ robe and belt (wouldn't sell but I think it'd be great!) Drawing a blank on more current ones (sad state of current WWE)
