Taker defeats AJ at Rumble (as "thank you" title run) and he faces the RR winner John Cena at WM. Taker loses and they do some grand spectacle as a farewell. Perfect way to cap off a career.

I've been saying this for a while I really don't want to see Cena vs Taker but I get why people would want to see it. Thing is we all know how the program is going to go, Cena is going to start with his whole underdog thing about him accomplishing things. Then he'll go on with the whole I need to defeat the undertaker and say the same cheesy lines he says all the time etc. Actually.... I'll be okay with this match if they give us Goldberg vs the Undertaker before he retires cause dammit we're never going to get Sting vs the undertaker Hell, give me Roman vs Taker, Rollins vs Taker, Balor vs Taker etc

Taker is over 50 with a reconstructed hip and wants to continue. 2017 NEEDS to be his last year. At this point it's just hurting his legacy if he chooses to continue on. How is he hurting his legacy? Dude can still go and is consistently putting on the MOTN or near it every time he steps into the ring. Well said, I really don't understand why people are so desperate for him to retire every damn year. Every time he comes back he absolutely ing kills it in the ring. He still moves around as well as he ever did.

Hopefully the Rumble vs AJ.
And anyone saying he "needs" to retire and he's "hurting" his legacy can drink some haterade if you're thirsty.
Or if you're hungry, eat a dick.

He'll come back on the Jan 3rd Episode of SD Live when it's AJ vs. Dolph for the title. Face Ziggler the next week for #1 Contendership..hence AJ vs. Taker at RR. Jericho vs. Owens should also happen at the Rumble.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't at or before the Rumble.

I'm confident that if he isn't beating AJ Styles for the Title at the Rumble and having one last run as Champion before going out, then he'll return at #30 and win the Rumble.

I still don't understand how losing your last match is a good way to go out lol, but I'm really hoping he gets the belt, he deserves it for certain and IS a good way to go out I think.

The way I would book it is Styles Vs. Taker at the Royal Rumble where Styles goes over clean. Then on the following Smackdown Taker comes out and basically questions himself if he still has it anymore and is about to retire when John Cena comes out and he lays down the challenge for a bout at Wrestlemania. Then you could go some different routs from their depend on if Taker still wants to wrestle after WM 33.If Taker wins he has his mojo back and if he loses to Cena he has one final grand moment and match at Wrestlemania where he hangs them up on a high note kind of like HBK/Flair at WM 24.
Just really don't think Taker should be Styles for the WWE Title or win the Royal Rumble match. He's way past his prime and doesn't need either win while Styles could really use a win clean over Taker to build up more of his credibility, his image as a main event caliber star and draw and also the credibility of the WWE Title and whomever finally beat him for it.

Don't really agree with it either, but it's basically tradition to lose your last match to do the favor. Austin is a perfect example when he lost his last match to The Rock.

I'd be fine with him coming back and putting either Bray or Kevin Owens over and calling it a career.

I'm all for one more World Title run. It'd be a great end to an already HOF career.
