It's kinda funny... for comparison pics, there really is no comparison.

I'd love to see more of these Jakks - Mattel comparison pics. God it makes me appreciate Mattel so much more, even if I think something is a little flawed here or there
Great post OP

Very interesting to see how far we've come since the Jakks days. Thanks for the pics.
With that said, I do feel the need to point out that some of us are throwing Jakks, a toy maker that started 21 years ago with WWE being their first major brand, under the bus for their quality compared to Mattel, a company that began 71 years ago and acquired the WWE license while literally leading the toy industry. While I agree that we are leaps and bounds better today when compared to where we were, if you think of the WWE toy brand as fruit, surely the phrase "apples to oranges" has never been more appropriate than it is here.

I think a lot of the Jakks hate is because people actually believe that Jakks should get another go at the WWE line despite Mattel obviously being the superior product.

I love the new Tatanka so much! The torso may be to ripped, but the size is spot on and everything else is perfect.
I can't wait to get it.

That Jakks Kamala is absolutely horrid (albeit a very old figure).. Mattel have their shortcomings, but it still shows how far the WWE line has come since they took over the license

Yes the Mattel elite figure is much much better than the jakks version. The problem is it's not a fair comparison, one is a $20 toy and the other is a $10 toy from several years ago. If mattel makes a basic version at the similar price point as the jakks in the future it would be more of a fair comparison.

The CS Jakks Tatanka was kinda a disaster. The prototype was much better. For some reason Jakks changed it and gave him the bigger torso and black kneepads. The RA Tatanka Jakks did is still one of the best wrestling figs ever made:

The main argument for Jakks is their superior head sculpts.

Jakks were good for the time. I still had mine on display when everything was on my shelf. I will say this though, I did buy some basic figures at a gas station, something I've never seen with jakks.
