I don't think anything was disrespectful about that segment at all. Heels acting like heels.

I'm usually not one to get offended but it did seem in poor taste and was unnecessary. It was weird and out of nowhere.
What made it even weirder was that when Goldust got the bear, he seemed really touched by it. I know he's working but his feeling seemed really genuine.
The whole segment did nothing for Gallows and Anderson.

It seems a combination of poor taste and Cody overreacting a bit to me.

I'm cool with the segment as long as Goldy was told ahead of time and was cool with the segment.

They didn't even have Goldust get revenge which makes it seem like even poorer taste. Why have someone disgrace someone's recently dead father and then not have the guy get any form of revenge or give the guy a beat down? Shows how terrible the booking is. Truth and Dust didn't need to win but at least there could have been some form of vengeance like Goldust getting DQ'd or something

I can see why Cody would be upset, but Cody should know just based on the WWE being so petty and not allowing him to use the name "Cody Rhodes" that the WWE will venture down this path.

Hopefully goldust ok'd this. This could be viewed as poor taste but still they've done worse. Remember cm punk doing the angle with Paul bearers ashes?

The Punk angle was edgy but it worked and added A LOT to the story. It was awesome IMHO. What happened here was just plain trashy. It wasn't a huge angle heading into wrestlemania. It is literally a throw away angle on an episode of Raw and one that didn't even have a payoff.

The match should have had either Goldust get the win or Goldust beat up Anderson in the corner and getting disqualified for not stopping.

the wwe is shameless, i'm not the least bit surprised to hear when they've stepped on some toes. from shaming jr for his medical conditions, to ridiculing handicaps, to having vince write an angle with trish where he gets to make out with her on screen for months on end....it's filthy stuff.
let's not forget that vince has wanted to do incest angles, not only once, but was luckily turned down by his family.

Cody is overreacting a ton. I am sure Goldust was fine with it.
But the segment was not important or anything and that's my only problem with it.

As much as it's distasteful, Goldust didn't exactly look weak, infact he was rather vicious, something we've not seen from him in years. Get the feeling this is gonna go somewhere.

Well, as someone who also recently lost a parent, I could imagine Cody was a lil depressed over the holidays. Just about anything would trigger some raw (no pun intended) emotion. So while I don't think the WWE did anything overly horrible, it was awful timing.

This is the only way they know how to get heat for heels anymore.

This is the same company that poked fun at JR's Bell Palsy and Hawk's real life alcohol addiction so making fun of someone's dead parent really is nothing to be surprised at.
I can understand Cody being upset but it obviously didn't bother Goldust since he did the segment.

Neh I don't think it was overly disrespectful cheap heat though for sure.

It definitely got me more invested in a lowercard tag match than I thought was possible. Certainly better than the Colons trying to give Bob Backlund a timeshare leaflet.

It is literally a throw away angle on an episode of Raw and one that didn't even have a payoff. Exactly how I felt once I saw it happen. It was an absolutely pathetic attempt to get cheap heat on the Club, and its even worse knowing that it won't lead anywhere, so what was the payoff of doing it at all? Nothing. This is the only way they know how to get heat for heels anymore. The funny thing is, that what heat did it get Gallows and Anderson? By next week its a totally forgotten segment in the eyes of fans. They're not anymore heel than they were the week before.
