I met Ken recently at a wrestling convention in NY and I asked him if he thinks he will ever get into the wwe hall of fame? He said that he likely isn't because he was part of the Bret Hart clique in Montreal. That makes no sense to me. They've been doing business with Bret for the last 7 years(I didn't tell him that, but I should have). Plus weren't Mick Foley and Undertaker part of Bret's clique as well? I remember he said in an interview that Triple H doesn't like him. What do you guys think is the real reason he is not in?
IMO he definitely deserves it- 1998 King of the Ring, WWE intercontinental champion, Tag team champion, and he paved the way for ufc guys to get into and have success in pro wrestling. Plus he was a semi main eventer during the hot attitude era.
BTW I asked him if he plans on fighting in mma again and he said he does, but he is suspended now. I didn't tell him this, but he definitely shouldn't fight again! I did think his last fight with Gracie was BS. Gracie got away with a low blow and won. So maybe he doesn't want to go out on that note?

I wouldn't put too much thought into what Ken Shamrock has to say. I thought I heard years ago that he is kind of wacky now and out there with some of the things he says??

If HHH doesnt like a guy, then he's not going into the HOF. That's why Scott Steiner isnt in.

As for Shamrock, I can see some merit for him getting into the HoF but his wrestling career was really short. Longevity counts for something.

Big Poppa Pump's speech would be both incredible and unforgettable! I agree with you on Shamrock, he wasn't around that long. He was also good but not great.

While I enjoyed Shamrock's little over 2 year run in WWF, he is nowhere near HOF worthy.

there's a lot of people that should go in before shamrock. that said he was more involved with wrestling than many might think. he started off actually in pro wrestling before mma and it wasn't until he went to japan in the 90s and saw that shoot fighting drew money down there that he made the switch to the pancrase promotion. at one point he was white hot, had good feuds with the rock and mankind and even shawn michaels despite at that point being green for wwe-level performances. 99 got messy with the stupid lion's den matches, corporation jobber beat up role, and weird feuds over his sister with people didn't help him at all (blame russo!)
considering people that have gone in, he would be a fine addition.

Well I will say this, he deserves to be in there over Koko B. Ware.

I've always liked Shamrock. Not an all-time favorite by any means, but I think he is HOF worthy for sure.
I may be jaded because I was a susceptible 9-year-old who believed everything when he debuted, but he was pretty important. Bret/Austin at WM 13 to start and pretty much the overall Attitude Era. The first PPV I went to was at Meadowlands for SummerSlam '97. Shamrock was over. To the point where some of Bret Hart's exits out of the company without the belt involved losing it to Shamrock. He might've peaked against Shawn at DX: IYH. 1998 was still a great year for him feuding with The Rock (one of the best feuds of '98 and perhaps the first to put The Rock on the map) and winning King of the Ring. Shamrock was intense and made every angle he was in feel like it was substantial. I just regret he didn't stick around because I'm sure bouts with Angle and Benoit would've been awesome.
WWE is a show. And Ken Shamrock was a very important character during a very important time in sports entertainment. I'd say he's in.
