What, is there like 15 active collectors in canada? With the abundance of e39, sounds like no ones buying figures up there. Walmart or mattel are probably not that confident in the market. The issue isn't that they don't sell. The issue is that they sell like hot cakes, but the same series is repeatedly restocked. No one wants 5-6 Sycho Sids or Mizdows. My Wal-Mart gets basics and battle packs just fine, but only orders in E39. Toys also rarely go on clearance, at least in my area. I have no issue paying the extra price when I miss out on something. But it gets frustrating when I don't even get the chance to miss out really. Unlike OP I'm not complaining about exclusives, I'm complaining about the regular series'. With seemingly no one to blame, I'm forced to pay high, high prices online due to the fact that I can't even access them in stores if I wanted to. The next nearest Wal-Mart is 2 hours drive away, and the only TRU I know of in my province in roughly a 6 hour drive away. Last I checked TRU in the summer it was just wall to wall unsold Seths, HOF 3, and E39. The market is viable. It always has been. It always looks bad when you flood a market with repetition is the problem. If you have a movie theatre showing 8 movies, but the same 8 movies all year eventually people are going to stop going to the theatre quick. That doesn't mean movies don't do well, you just have to update. But again, I have no idea where the issue is or on who's end.

Welcome to WrestlingFigs, its the name of the game around here- proceed with caution. I agree with the essence of what the OP said but his anger is misdirected. As others have stated, Bill has nothing to do with distribution nor does he care so don't hold your breath for him to pass along any message. Having said that, venting on here does yield results, a while back I complained loudly about the HOF series not being available in Canada and low and behold a while later HOF 3 showed up at TRU. This leads me to believe that some of the higher ups at Mattel do frequent these boards and look through the active discussions. I contacted Walmart, TRU and Mattel recently about the lack of new elites being stocked but they don't give a rats a$$. Walmart & TRU gave me some crap about how its Mattel's fault, they have no control over what is ordered and Mattel (big conglomerate they are) don't even have a customer service line for Canada which should give you an idea how much they care. I found a number for 'Mattel Canada' but the call was routed to Mattel in the USA where the lady I spoke to had no clue what I was talking about nor did she want to transfer me to someone who is more knowledgeable about distribution matters and could answer my questions. Bottom line, as someone else already posted, the USA is the MAIN market for these products and that is the market Mattel cares about. For those outside the USA, be grateful we are even getting anything at all and that is probably thanks to the retailers who decide to stock WWE figures in their stores as if it was up to Mattel I don't think these would be available outside the USA at all. You hit the nail on the head. When I first started collecting E30 was the series that had come out at the time, from that point onward until E38, elites were selling well then E39 hit and it all went to hell from there. It appears that either they ordered an abnormally large amount of this set or some people have stopped collecting with the end result being that E39 is clogging shelves everywhere. The other issue is they refuse to put these on clearance, WM just reduced the price of elites by 5 bucks to $19.97- yeah that is going to help get rid of these Walmart. In the USA, retailers appear to be more willing to mark the shelf warmers down significantly to get rid of them and allow new stock to come in. In Canada, the opposite is true, they just let stuff sit on shelves seemingly forever which prevents new stock from coming in and likely push some collectors out of the game, which will impact the future of this line in Canada unfortunately. You seem to be quite confused my friend. First, Target no longer exists in Canada- they f--ked up big time with their expansion here and shut down ALL the stores they opened (over 100) and went home. Second, the OP was referring to Walmart exclusives NOT Target exclusives.

@cdnmadness I wasnt aware Target closed all Canadian stores, but he did mention them in the OP...
Smyths in the UK managed to get Hall of Fame figures. If retail demanded it then you would have them. Regardless of Canada being "wrestling country"

Walmart/mattel obviously see it differently, whether a collector says they sell amazingly or not

For what it's worth, the Walmarts and Targets aren't always that great in the U.S. My Walmart had no 40, 41, or 42. A few cases of 43, one case of 44 (missed Strowman), maybe two cases of 45, and a case of Legends. My town's Target stocked zero regular elite waves from 2016.

Sorry, I must have missed his reference to Target, I only skimmed through his huge rant and he has since edited his post. HOF3 was sold here at TRU, they appear to have an agreement to sell this series in Canada. Hopefully they will carry HOF4 & HOF5, I am waiting for Jake the Snake & Piper figures from series 5 but am a bit concerned as series 4 looks like its full of potential shelf warmers to me- I hope I am wrong.

Yes, it appears the problems with retail are widespread and not just limited to Canada. I wonder if the lack of new product on shelves has to do with internal inventory related issues on the retailers end or if sales of these figures have declined and thus the stores are choosing not to order as much new product?! As I mentioned before, I think Mattel is pumping out too much product, it seems to be non-stop now and looks like it might be affecting sales?!

Your area is better than mine. 1 case of elite 40 right when we got those pallet elite 39 displays at wally world from a year ago. No new elites at except ToysRus and Walgreens. I was able to pick up extra e43 Joe and Owens at Walgreens for Christmas. ToysRus got an elite 41 pallet display and those have not sold down yet. Nothing new from target and then I see 1 e44 macho man recently. Distribution has been god awful all year. So it's on to eBay, Amazon, and ringside for me. The new Walmart exclusive elites I have no interest in, except that shield 3pack that just popped up.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! is a children's story by Theodor "Dr. Seuss" Geisel written in rhymed verse with illustrations by the author. It follows the Grinch, a grouchy, solitary creature who attempts to put an end to Christmas by stealing Christmas-themed items from the homes of the nearby town Whoville on Christmas Eve. Despite his efforts, Whoville's inhabitants still celebrate the holiday, so the Grinch returns everything that he stole and is the guest of honor at the Whos' Christmas dinner.
The story was published as a book by Random House in 1957, and at approximately the same time in an issue of Redbook.[1] The book criticizes the commercialization of Christmas.[2] Based on a 2007 online poll, the National Education Association named it one of its "Teachers' Top 100 Books for Children". In 2012 it was ranked number 61 among the "Top 100 Picture Books" in a survey published by School Library Journal – the fourth of five Dr. Seuss books on the list.
The book was adapted as a Christmas special twice, a 1966 animated TV movie starring Boris Karloff as both the narrator and the voice of the Grinch and a 2000 live-action feature film starring Jim Carrey. There will also be a second film adaption out on November 9th 2018. The Grinch is a bitter, grouchy, cave-dwelling creature with a heart "two sizes too small" who lives on snowy Mount Crumpit, a steep high mountain just north of the town of Whoville, home of the merry and warm-hearted Whos. His only companion is his unloved, but loyal dog, Max. From his cave, the Grinch can hear the noisy Christmas festivities that take place in Whoville. Annoyed, he decides to stop Christmas from coming by stealing their presents, trees, and food for their Christmas feast. He crudely disguises himself as Santa Claus, and forces Max, disguised as a reindeer, to drag a sleigh to Whoville. Once there, the Grinch slides down the chimney and steals all of the Whos' Christmas presents, the Christmas tree, and the log for their fire. He is briefly interrupted in his burglary by Cindy Lou, a little Who girl, but concocts a crafty lie to effect his escape from her home.
The Grinch then takes his sleigh to the top of Mount Crumpit, and prepares to dump all of the presents into the abyss. As dawn breaks, he expects to hear the Whos' bitter and sorrowful cries, but is confused to hear them singing a joyous Christmas song instead. He puzzles for a moment until it dawns on him that "maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more" than just presents and feasting. The Grinch's shrunken heart suddenly grows three sizes. The reformed Grinch returns all of the Whos' presents and trimmings and is warmly invited to the Whos' feast, where he has the honor of carving the Roast Beast.
