3 week until launch and all I want to know is who is hyped about this game? The franchise has had many bumps in the road, even with REVII, I still don't know if this game is going to bring back old fan, do justice for the old school gamers, or usher in a new fan base. Personally, I've played every RE except 3 and CV. I enjoyed all, 4 and 5 being among my favorites. Even the spin-off Revelations 2 was a good game. From a VR stand point, I'm excited and terrified to play REVII. With all the footage I've viewed and the updated demo I've played, I'm wondering if I'll be able to play it at all. I had to watch my younger brother play RE1, because it was too scary to play when we were kids. Still, I plan on getting this game at launch, but I'm unsure which edition to get. The collector in me WANTS to get the Collector's Edition, but the part of my brain that supports logic seems to think that it's awfully expensive considering that the DLC that comes with the Survival Edition is not included with the upgrade. It's a tough choice and in the end I'm sure I'll convince myself that the CE is best.

I really, really want for this game to be good. After RE6 though, I'm keeping my cash in my pocket until the reviews are in and I can read up on casual gamers opinions of it. RE6 was such a frustrating experience for me. I seriously think "Michael Bay presents:" should have been somewhere in the title to explain why it was such a chaotic mess.
I actually promised myself to try and sit through it just one more time to see if maybe I didn't give it a fair shot the first time around. Maybe a 2nd play through can help me just appreciate it for what it is, as opposed to what it wasn't in regards to a RE title.

It looks like a Outlast ripoff to me, and not Resident Evil. Highly doubt I even give it a try

So no one pulled the trigger on this game? Reviews seem good enough, but I was hoping to hear more from casual fans. My backlog keeps growing with all the recent sales on PSN, so I'll still likely wait until a price drop. I'm just not sure how far back I'll let this one slip, and what price will make me commit.

I know nothing about this game but from a design stand point I love how The VII was included within the word Evil.

Rented it from Redbox over the weekend. Loved 1-4 and Code Veronica and played through them all, beating them with no issues. I don't know if its just that I have been playing less and less over the years or that its in first person but I found it hard as f**k. The game is creepy and definitely has its scares. I had a lot of fun with it at first but then found myself constantly dying and not being able to get past certain parts without several attempts. Then I got to the 2nd boss fight with one of the crazy family members and could not beat him. Knew what to do, was executing my strategy to defeating him, but would always end up getting killed and having to restart. After countless attempts, I quit and took it back. I may eventually give it another shot. Probably when it gets under $20 in a few months, I will pick it up.

Just got the PS4 pro; dogs ran around the table, knocked over my PS4 and bent the HDMI port out of socket. The only way I could play is by bending the HDMI cord under the PS4 at the right angle. Worked nicely for FFXV, but it was too much for my VR, with all the cords. It was cool though, Game Stop still gave me $175 trade credit towards the Pro, with RE7 it was under $300. Anyways, will try it this weekend. I've heard nothing but good things about it!
I would be playing games everyday if it wasn't for school and career goals!

I'm playing this at the moment. Its pretty tense at times, wouldn't really say its scary or anything though. The boss battles against Jack are a pain in the ass though. More than once I've had to stop playing because I keep dying, even when I figure out the way to kill him.
Edit: Finished it shortly after making this post. Turns out I was pretty much at the end. I'll say that this game started off good when it was crazy hillbillies but went downhill towards the ending. It was a bit disappointing but also a relief that the final boss is one of the easiest missions ever.
