I've seen comments here and there about the scale size with respect to the heads on figures. The ones that come to mind for me are the Target Exclusive Dusty Rhodes and Bash at the Beach Sting. Don't get me wrong, the sculpts are magnificent. Unfortunatley when you stand them next to other previously released figures, there can be noticable scale differences. This was one of the obvious shortcomings of customizers trying to copy a Jakks head and put it on a Mattel body. It just didn't look right, however, now I'm starting to see some official releases that appear to have that same issue.
I recall Bill saying I.R.S. was delayed because the first proof he received had a problem with the head size. Are we starting to see larger heads because items are being rushed through production? Is creating larger heads intentional? Am I just imagining it?
Figure heights has been challenging at times, especially when you take the basics into account. I hope head scale doesn't pose a new problem. I'm very much looking forward to the new Piper. When I look at the prototype photos, I'm really hoping he does not suffer from an enlarged head.

I feel heads are definitely getting larger. Sami's new one, Cesaro's new one, AJ Styles... they all seem larger.
Not sure how I feel about it, if this is the case.

Big head items are the new "it" thing to do. I blame Funko Pops and chibis for this.

I think Narcissist Lex Luger would also qualify compared to elite 30 Luger.

I normally dont see the fuss, but e38 Bradshaw has too big of a head. The hair should lay flatter like its wet, not blow dried

I hope not.
Irs' head originally was said to have been too small. I wouldn't say the now released larger head is too large.
....I wonder if a larger scale head could make it easier to create a more accurate sculpt in some cases.

Yup, it is deeply disappointing to see that MDT allows such scale issues in their final products. There are quite a handful i can think of:
DM surfer Sting HOF Flair Walmart Bash96 Sting Elite 45 Luger AJ Styles
APA bradshaw TRU debut Cena

Funny I just was taking my January birthday photos for my instagram account (kewl_figs) and noticed how huge Tully Blanchards Jakks head was!

I do think it's to fit in more/better detail, though.

Haven't seen the batb Sting in person. But from the pics it looks like his head would look okay if his legs weren't little stems.

I could care less about how big the head is. I really don't pay too much attention to the sizes

I thought Sting looked okay from the front, but the side profile looked huge.

Yup, it is deeply disappointing to see that MDT allows such scale issues in their final products. There are quite a handful i can think of: DM surfer Sting HOF Flair Walmart Bash96 Sting Elite 45 Luger AJ Styles APA bradshaw TRU debut Cena I don't think that the two Sting and the HOF Flair heads are too large. People don't seem to factor in their 80's hair styles. The GAB '90/Starrcade '90 surfer Sting has the large spiked hair that Sting had back in the day. And the BatB Sting/HOF Flair heads they have puffy (Sting) or puffy thick hair (Flair). So if you were to imagine their heads were sculpted bald instead of with the hair styles they have the heads would be scaled correctly. And with Lex I think the new head is scaled correctly also. I don't have styles yet. But he has that long thick hair that covers his face in real life so again the sculped is going to make it look larger than it is. Again if I imagine that figure bald the head looks to be scaled correctly. I do feel the APA Bradshaw's is too large though.
