I was in Woolworths today, and I was looking at the new ECW box set and there was a man talking to an employee and he said "I was here in the morning and this was £20. I came back just now, and got it scanned and it was £40. Why's that?" The employee said it was a short promotion, and has been happening in several Woolworths. So get the box set if you can while it's £20 as it will be going up.

The dude said, if it was marked as £20 but scanned as £40 they would have to sell it as £20 because that's false advertising.

He's right, if you find one with the 1/2 Price sticker on it or the label on the shelf says £19.99 they have to honour it, i know, i worked at a Woolies so take advantage if they forget to take the stickers off. I was lucky cos a mate of mine picked up one for me who still works there so with his staff discount i got it for round £15/£16.

Yes but I could just as easily put a sticker on from any item and claim it for that price.

They'll check the cameras when you're gone and will see you as a shoplifter when you enter the store from then on. If a few of them have that tag, then you can do it. But if its just one of them that has a different price tag, they'll be weary. I want this and the RAW set. I'll wait until they are seen as horrible shelf warmers, and see if i can get a UK'er to get them for me

It's actually a bit of an "urban myth" type thing that shops have to sell it at the price it says on it, it's not actually the law but most shops honour wrong price tickets for good customer relations and to avoid bad publicity, they don't have to do it by law. Apparantly the price tickets are technically just suggestions, the customer has the right to barter with the store to get stuff cheaper but no one does that these days.

Every till is wired to a computer system and once a employee scans an item in, they can check it's price history; past, present and even a few months in the future, if it's going to be a promotional item.

It's exact re-releases of ECW1 CM Punk, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer and Kevin Thorn and ECW2 Elijah Burke and Bobby Lashley with their weapons they came with in single sales. It's a pretty neat box tho.

Easy decision to buy this for me, 6 superstars 5 I didn't have before & an updated Tommy Dreamer.
couldn't find it at first because it wasn't with the rest of the figs for some reason but a quick wander around the store soon uncovered loads of them.

I've already got 2 of the 6 figures, but I do seem interested in it.

Actually, they don't have to honour it, as was the case with amazon a few years back when they put the wrong price on a phone or something, and it ended up being like a quid.
