This past weekend, I bought my first new wrestling figures since 1994... the new Mattel Retro figures. As a Hasbro collector, I was excited the second news hit that these would be released. I was excited, but didn't really think I would buy them. As weeks and months passed following the announcement, I finally came to grips that after a 23 year gap in collecting, I was ready to jump back on the horse.
I checked Walmart daily when rumors started spreading that they were out. After about 4 trips, I found Brock, Cena and Roman. Doubled back a few days later and found KO.
Now I find myself in total limbo. Haha! I'm so jealous of all of the main line Mattel collectors who have damn near hundreds of upcoming figures to look forward to! Here I am with my 4 figures...no idea what's going on with the Undertaker and Warrior... no idea what, if anything, is next?
Will there be a ring?
Are rumors of Series 2 true? • Kane • Triple H • Stone Cold Steve Austin • The Rock • Sting • Mankind
Or is this it??
If this is a one time thing, I will still say that I'm thankful that Mattel brought out the 6th grader in me again!

Hey Brother,
I feel your woes, and i have yet to find any of them. Not wanting to drop bigger money on ebay i constantly find myself driving way out of the way in hope of finding just 1 of these figures because they seen so rare and special. That said i am completely on board for a full lineup of these guys. I read on a forum here that the undertaker and warrior wont be released until the second wave, but take that for what it's worth. But i find some credibility in it since i haven't seen a single mention or post of either. Hopefully we can finally get that long awaited Orange line that everyone has been dying for.

I can appreciate these kind of things in moderation. The over saturation of these figures is not healthy for our wallets.

dont be jealous. Be happy and content with what you have, and enjoy simplicity. Were a bunch of junkies over here trying to figure out how to budget our plastic crack. I started with a shelf, then a whole bookshelf, then a desk, and now most are in plastic tubs...
Its probably a blessing that theyre doing limited release of these, because even WWE Funko POP vinyls are getting out of hand.
I like the concept of these retro figures, but I have zero Hasbro WWF nostaglia or any figures from that era. Im from BCAs and elites and basics are such an improvement. The problem is there is like you said 100s-1000s of them to potentially collect. Then you have the issue of "im only going to collect so-an-so or people from this era." Then you start to get managers, rivals, and fill out rosters. Then youre sucked into the current product and want figures of the new guys.
TL;DR I cant afford to buy these because basics and elites have me tapped for the foreseeable future....

I don't know if anyone knows for sure if there will be more retro figures, but I heard somewhere that it was a one shot deal. That's why I'm holding off on buying them.

Taker and Warrior are in the revision case, which means they should be hitting within or around a month or so

I feel like this line has to be a success, in just about a week my Walmart has sold everyone and they had a ton. I got my 4 and I'm very happy with them. Can't wait for more. But where's warrior and taker 🤔

I found Cena and Lesnar the other day. Wound up putting them back because I bought the BATB 3 pack instead. Hoping to find um again. Really looking forward to the flashbacks/legends. Really think Sting should be the blonde Sting...always had to use the galoob in my hasbro fed back in the day!

Seems odd to me that Undertaker and Warrior would be pulled from the initial rollout. Most typical Hasbro-Era fans would identify with those two more than the more modern era four. Spooks me a little that they were also left out of some recent tweets about the figures by WWE employees. They are on the back of the cards, so that makes me feel a little more confident we will see them.

I'm with you, man. Grew up obsessed with Hasbros and couldn't be more pumped for these. Gave in and bought a set off eBay late last week and will grab another set to open up whenever they hit locally. I hope they make hundreds of 'em.

I hope for more and a ring. But i'm really only interested in the classic figures that fit into the old Hasbro Era. Pretty much any wrestlers 96 and before, I'll buy without hesitation.

I think Mattel should fix the white people skin tone, it should be between a peach(owens) and a carrot(Miz). Sheamus can be super pale though.

It could be worse, you could be looking in stores in the UK (like me) even though they are not going to be there 😭

I'll buy Undertaker because he wasn't released in purple and I'll buy warrior because I'm a sucker. I feel warrior is too close to Hasbro warrior 1, o wish it was a different paint scheme.
I can't wait for more! Best thing Mattels ever done. Period. I even bought Roman and I am not a fan. I even bought doubles to open and I never do that.
I'm sure sting will be Crow but good god I wish it was surfer.
