WWE announced the following after the Royal Rumble PPV:
Randy Orton to compete in the main event of WrestleMania 33
It's a rivalry without parallel in modern-day WWE, and at WrestleMania 33, career-long foes John Cena and Randy Orton could very well lock horns again — provided Cena makes it to April 2 with his newly won WWE Championship.
The Viper punched his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania by overcoming an all-star field of 29 other competitors to claim the 2017 Royal Rumble Match. Mere hours earlier, The Cenation Leader defeated AJ Styles to win his 16th World Title, a historic feat only accomplished by one other competitor in history: WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.
While Orton's opportunity at The Showcase of the Immortals is secure, Cena's is not, yet. The Champ first must retain the title on Sunday, Feb. 12, in a WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match announced weeks ago by SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon. As of now, the only other competitor confirmed for that six-Superstar battle is Styles. If Cena is successful at WWE Elimination Chamber, only then will his WrestleMania match against Orton be set in stone.
Putting Elimination Chamber aside for a moment, a WrestleMania main event between Cena and Orton would be a fitting, if not poetic, way to celebrate both Superstars' 15-year anniversaries in WWE. The Champ and The Viper have been peers throughout their remarkable careers, beginning with their training in former WWE developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling, and they have waged war in many a WWE pay-per-view main event over the years.
Will the WWE Universe witness the next chapter at WrestleMania 33?

I'm excited. It should be a good chamber match.

WWE thought Randy Orton vs Batista would be a historic main event too, until the fans got so pissed off and put the belt on Daniel Bryan.
We don't want Cena/Orton and we don't want Reigns/Undertaker.
Maybe all these people protesting about refugees can get their asses to the arenas every Monday and Tuesday. #SaveWrestlemania

If Punk stuck around, Bryan wouldn't have been in the title match.

the WWE wants to do Cena/Orton. and to be honest if they can guarantee it will be the last time, it could end up being something special....with all the history surrounding it.
might as well do it. they are gonna sell Wrestlemania on Goldberg/Lesnar anyway.

Sadly, Daniel Bryan's moment at WrestleMania 30 was way more due to Punk walking out than it was about the fans' backlash. If Punk stuck around, Bryan wouldn't have been in the title match. You would think after that everyone would wake up. and stop giving WWE the benefit of the doubt but here we are 3 years and they still are hoping against hope. some day they will wake up. still better than UFC

The only good that can come from Orton winning is if they finally finish up this stupid Wyatt Family angle ASAP (no later than EC PPV) have Orton turn face and have AJ win the title back so we can have Orton vs. AJ for the first time ever. Would be a classic no doubt.
But we probably won't get that and instead we'll have Cena/Orton #5054 or Wyatt/Orton which would be a pretty damn weak WWE Championship match.

BTW, why is AJ Styles getting his rematch in a six-man match as opposed to one-on-one? Actually, never mind - I'm sure they're doing this so AJ can say that Shane screwed him over, thus leading to their match at Mania.

This Elimination Chamber (despite whoever wins it) is bound to be better than anything at WrestleMania this year.

The Chamber will be Cena vs Styles vs Bray vs Harper vs Miz vs Ziggler. I hope that Corbin is in it though.

The Chamber will be Cena vs Styles vs Bray vs Harper vs Miz vs Ziggler. I hope that Corbin is in it though. I expect Harper to be in a singles match against Orton at Elimination Chamber, so Corbin probably will be in the chamber match.
