I never got why people thought that 07 was the best SVR in the series. For me the best was 06.

2006 and 2007 for GM Mode and 2011 for Universe and RTWM

Between '07 and '06 for me. I used to love playing all the story based career modes round that period. I'll take '07 as I still play GM mode on that to this day

I always thought SmackDown VS RAW 2008 was insanely underrated and was always one of my favourites. Never understood the hate for it, and I still don't. I enjoyed the season mode, and I absolutely loved finally having the ability to run around wherever I wanted! The unique fighting styles were an interesting experiment, and I think it worked. So I'd say that's my second favourite.
However, SmackDown VS RAW 2011 is my fond favourite. It had the best graphics in the series up to that point, all new physics system, Story Designer was improved from SmackDown VS RAW 2010, Universe Mode was a great new mode, Road to WrestleMania was pretty good, the DLC was one of the best they ever did in my opinion, and it's also the game that I started my YouTube caw league on, so that gave it ton more replayability than it would have done otherwise.

I'll go with the inaugural one and 2006. Hearing voice overs for the first time in Season Mode was really cool, even if the roster felt a bit weak looking back.

'06 easily followed closely by '07 and then '11. In fact, I would have said '07 if the directional control moves were better implemented.

I enjoyed 08 too, but they regressed on literally everything. The roster was awful, granted that wasn't really THQ's fault, it was just bad at the time. GM Mode was fun but full of glitches and it was a gamble if you would win GM of the year or not. For example, my first time playing it I had no money, all my guys were injured and I was losing very bad in the ratings. I somehow won the mode. When I was older and replayed it, I dominated the competition and as you can guess, lost to ECW who had no top stars. 2007's, while not perfect at least functioned properly. And the season mode in every way was a downgrade from 07. And no way did 2011 have the best graphics. Here is a great video which shows you the textures comparison:
