This was his last appearance shortly after SummerSlam. He was going to feud with Adam Bomb as a face but he left soon after.

They teased a face turn after he lost to Undertaker at SummerSlam, but I don't think they had any real plans for Giant Gonzalez afterwards. He had one feud with Taker, it flopped and there was nothing else for him.
It is interesting though that they teased a babyface feud against Harvey and Adam Bomb. I recall his last appearance being in the Intercontinental battle royal (won by Razor and Martel) where he was clearly booked as a heel and eliminated immediately.
I have no idea if him leaving was on his terms of the WWFs. I just don't see where he could fit in after his run with Taker.

The rumor was if he stayed he would've been on team Razor Ramon at Survivor Series 93.

The Giant Gonzalez character was just a crazy botch all together. Furry naked man suit, walking around like the Yeti, monosyllabic grunting... no. As El Gigante, he was physically impressive. As Gonzalez, he was just ridiculous looking. They should have gone back to the basic El Gigante look after the heel Gonzalez flopped and seen how well he could do as a friendly giant.

The thing about El Gigante/Giant Gonzalez was that while he was extraordinarily tall, that was the only thing about his physique that was truly incredible. He had long, lean limbs and his upper body was like a giant dad bod. Not trying to be too hard on someone who passed, but they probably airbrushed those ridiculous muscles on his costume to hide the fact that he wasn't as physically imposing as an Andre or Big Show.

I never really cared for him in WCW and I thought he was a complete joke in the WWE.

I gotta say this was an entertaining episode of Mania. The only real highlight of his WWF run IMO.

The Raw battle royal he was in was during early October.

Poor Undertaker couldn't use his finisher on any of his opponents for like 2 years.

As a kid I thought it was a pretty cool character. It was probably something that sounded better during a creative meeting or probably would come off better/cooler if it were a movie character but ultimately it failed. Bad gimmick and a guy who really couldn't work.

He could Stayed to face Yokozuna Mabel and Earthquake yes I believe he was about to turn face, because Gonzalez chokeslamed Harvey Whippleman after the RIP match at summerslam 93' - indicating he wanted nothing more to do with Whippleman. I think Gonzalez stayed with WWF for 2-3 weeks after summerslam - because I recall him being in a battle royal the following month in September on an episode of RAW.

REALLY wish Hogan stayed and fueded with him before leaving. Gonzales vs Yoko would have been cool as well.
