I agree with others that there are some guys that Mattel just doesn't do a good job of getting an accurate headscan of for some reason. It's annoying. Bret is one of those guys, unfortunately.

I think it is the painting. I have seen people repaint Mattel molds and they look incredible.

This one is also very good albeit for an older Bret look

With a little less cheeks, it could pass as a 1997 WWF Hart.

I've collected wrestling figures since the ljn days and was always frustrated with the Bret sculpts as he's always been my favorite wrestler so this thread really caught my eye and made me want to create an account even though l only only collect 1/6 figures now. I'm actually the person that commissioned both Bret sculpts that were posted too as I was wanting wanting a figure that captured his likeness. I have another Bret project in the works for my personal collection, but would buy a Mattel figure if the headsculpt was right

Wow tbay, have you got any more photos of the 1/6 figures all finished? Would love to see some more pics. The person who sculpted both heads is super talented. A good find!

Did Ava make it (or whatever her name is?)

Sorry Patrick and Davey, I couldn't find any pics of Bret (I had some that I posted with postimage and they've expired or something. The one you posted of the painted up fig from instagram was originally mine (I sold it to him). My current Bret is with a sculptor, but when I get it back I'll take pics and post them here. I'm working on a new Bret and I can send you pics of the progress of the sculpt for feedback. I'd like to put together Owen, Anvil and Bulldog as well. Patrick: they were two different sculptors: Caine and Archius from another forum, it wasn't Ava. I know Goldberg ended Bret's career, but I'm still a fan of da man. Here's my latest 1/6 custom that someone painted for me.

Personally I think the first Mattel Bret head (DM) is the best likeness of any Bret figure (by any company)
