When I was a kid I loved Kane and what made him so special was the mystery behind the mask and not knowing what he looked like. It wasn't until 2004 I finally found out that he was Issac Yankem and the fake Diesel and to be truthful I found it mind boggling that the scary dentist I had seen on old VHS tapes was actually Kane.
Now my question is was it always common knowledge in the Attitude Era that Kane was Issac Yankem and when did you find out? Being truthful if I had know in 1998 that Kane was Issac Yankem it would've ruined the aura of the character for me because I would've known what he looked like and that he wasn't really Undertaker's Brother.

I found out early on. Because in the summer of 1999 there was a rumor of second Kane going around. The internet thought because Glen Jacobs body was more tight and lean, that a second guy was playing Kane....Thats how I found out.

As early as 1997 for me because I was reading the observer. If one didn't have the observer, there was also New Wave Wrestling magazine sold in news centers and they were a kayfabe killer type magazine telling real names, backstage stories. They would often mention who Kane originally was.

The internet told me in the summer of 1997.
After Yankem became the Fake Diesel, they sent him to the USWA in 1997 and he played a character named Doomsday. He had on a hockey mask if I remember quickly. Kind of like the old Lord Humongous character that Sid played in CWF in 1988. Then Doomsday disappeared from USWA after the summer of 1997 and Kane quickly appeared on Oct. 5th of that year.

Thinking about it between 96 and 97 Jacobs had been landed with many characters and was very lucky he was chosen to be Kane. I wonder how far in advance it was planned for Jacobs to be Kane. The character started getting mention around mid 97 so I wonder if Jacobs was locked to play the character from that point.

For them to send Glenn to the USWA in Memphis and have him be a character that is A LOT like Kane, in appearance, style and such, makes me believe that he was locked in to be a while. I do remember in early 97, the Fake Diesel and Razor went to USWA and feuded with each other. Then the Fake Diesel disappeared and Doomsday appeared.

Right away. I knew the Fake Diesel was Issac. And believe it or not, I became a big fan of the fake Diesel. And I had been hoping he'd get repackaged. As Kane was debuting, I knew right away it was the fake Diesel. Not too many seven foot guys with arms that big.

I never heard the second Kane rumor but I remember my friends thought that Kane was an impostor at Survivor Series 2001 because of how big he looked that night.

Probably around 2004ish when I started using the internet on a regular basis instead of just every now and then to go on WWE.com, so when I was 12.
Before Kane unmasked I had no idea what he even looked like. I was one of those fans desperate to know how he looked!

It was right away for me. Probably read it online, I had internet in 96, but I thought that night it was Adam Bomb or Yankem (Fake Diesel debut) I knew that he looked familiar.
As for Kane being Yankem/Diesel, I'm not sure but I think I knew that beforehand or right after thanks to the internet.

As soon as he walked out. Kane moved like Yankem/Diesel/Unabomb. All of which I was very familiar with.

Probably around 2007ish when I first joined YouTube. I remember watching a match between Bret Hart and Issac Yankem and reading in the comment section that it was Glenn Jacobs who plays Kane.

Before Kane unmasked I had no idea what he even looked like. I was one of those fans desperate to know how he looked! I had the internet from 95 but never looked at WWE stuff because in the UK Raw used to be shown on Friday nights so I stayed away from wrestling sites to avoid spoilers. When I was a kid Kane had a magic about him and it was the mystery behind the mask. If I had known that he was Issac Yankem it would've killed the aura of the character for me so I consider myself lucky that I never found out until after he unmasked.
