I just found E48 yesterday, and I was looking at the pics for E49, and I felt like the quality of the line is going back up. We have nice stands and cards for them again, paint apps seem to be getting better, and we're getting a lot more cloth items than around 2014ish. E48 Ambrose has accessories besides a cloth shirt, which hasn't been the norm as of the past few years, and E49 has two cloth shirts, which is a very nice surprise. And DMs also seem to be better. Savage and Flair have beautiful cloth robes, and Savage might have a belt too, but I doubt it. They also added the Network Spotlights, which have produced some of the best figures ever. That Chainsaw Massacre Bálor is a museum-quality work of art and Undertaker is amazing if you swap the head.
I look at all these amazing figures coming out and I can't help but wonder if the budget MDT has to work with was given an increase. Because we are being blessed with an amazing line of figures (with some misses here and there, looking at you ponytail HBK scan) and we've been told for years that the cost to produce these goes up every year. This line is apparently the #1 selling toy line of some sort according to the bookmark at the top of the forum, so maybe Bill has more money to work with as a reward or something

Could be that they got a little more money, but also the fact they learned how to budget their money for figures better. The complaints probably helped change some things too and had Mattel take a closer look.

I would say yes and no.
The figures are more expensive.
The cloth clothes are good but not to the same standard as the older ones.
And Bill has said he has found ways to make the production cheaper.
The QC is much much better lately, yet to me the figures feel cheaper in hand than they use to in the last 4-5 series.

Undertaker is amazing if you swap the head. (with some misses here and there, looking at you ponytail HBK scan) If you have to swap the head then how can it be amazing? Wouldn't be a miss like HBK since it has the wrong head?

Yes, I would say quality has gotten better. I got 2 hof4 and 2 e48 this weekend and all 4 were in perfect condition. Last time I had a qc problem was e43 samoa joe's wrist, its been good since then for me.

We are getting more accessories and even stands now.
Id say it seem they may have gotten a slight rise in budget

It's getting close to Mattel's contract expiration (2019), so it's added motivation...

The new cloth shirts are leaps and bounds better than the ones in the first few series. The old ones didn't fit and the sleeves were all jacked up look at the John Morrison shirt.

Could it be because of BPs no longer coming with accessories? Did that money go towards the Elite line?

Stupid question..... I've seen the initials BP, QC & MDT (among others) used here before. I have no idea what you all are talking about, what do these stand for?

Profits on the rise, a new, lower contract at the factory, negotiated product costs, better budgets, etc. all that can take a toll in either direction.

It's getting close to Mattel's contract expiration (2019), so it's added motivation... This sort of thing needs to stop being thrown around

Thats twice the amount of when Eites first came here. But the US is the big market obvs. Usd is very strong against Yuan recently so labour is cheaper for Mattel. Oil has been much cheaper than 2010-12 too Couple of economic factors

It's getting close to Mattel's contract expiration (2019), so it's added motivation... WWE is the best selling line in the US. Mattel is getting another contract extension
