Guy I can't even make this up. I was at Raw last night in Chicago which is 3 hours from my house and on y way home I received a call from my friend that happened to be an on duty Police Officer that my house was struck by lightning and on fire. When we got home we saw we lost everything. Fortunately my family wasn't there but one of my dogs died and I lost entire collection. We of you know I'm a big wet and greet person and I had over 20 signed figs that I'll never be able to replace. I always put things in perspective and my family dog was before my collection but I don't know what to say and was looking for encouraging words. I know things can be replaced but I was just real proud of my collection and now have to start over.

Yup. You have to start your collection over. That's a shame.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your dog. Hopefully you had insurance on the house.

Someone pushed the reset button on this thread. I've never seen that before.

Someone pushed the reset button on this thread. I've never seen that before. There were a bunch more comments just a short time ago. I've never seen this either. Strange.

I thought it was gonna get locked or moved anyways because of some of the comments but there were also some nice sentiments posted. I've seen large clean outs in threads but never a full out reset and this thread wasn't even a full page long yet.

Wow that's terrible. Figures are just plastic toys that can be replaced, but I couldn't even fathom losing my dog like that. I wish you the best of luck making a quick and safe recovery.

Sorry to hear that, really really sad news about the dog. I had a similar experience almost 2 years ago to the day, had my house catch fire when I was inside, barely had time to get my dog and get out and literally had to watch everything I owned go up in flames. It took me almost a year before I could even walk into a toy store again but as time went on the healing continued. After running into the Hall of Fame Warrior at Target I was officially back in. I've had a lot of help with members on here and finally have a respectable collection again. Give it time and realize how fortunate you are that your family was safe. I hope your insurance is more helpful than mine was and that everything gets wrapped up quickly.

A few years back I lost my collection to a fire caused by a faulty cloths dryer. It's always tough to restart a collection especially if you has signed figures. My collection has grown to be better than before and yours can too.

I accidentally made 2 threads this morning and the other one got out of hand. I was just looking for encouragement and got it here now. It means a lot and is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Nothing I can say will probably help much. I can't begin to imagine what you must be going through.
Just know that I'm very sorry for your loss, all of it. And I'm glad the rest of your family is safe.

Very sorry for the loss of your dog, you're very fortunate to have not lost anyone else. Dogs are family, how old/what breed was he/she?
Might help to talk about him/her remember the good times.
