If there was ever a war with humans and machines like how in the Terminator films they had a war with machines and humans and the machines actually making for formidable opponents with humanity being challenged if we ever have artificial intelligence like that in the future because it can happen...hell it will happen in the next few decades that robots will become a reality so but would we even stand a chance of beating them? I mean if the robots are anything like Skynet robots in the Terminator films then we definitely don't stand a chance

Can't we just do an electromagnetic pulse and take them out?

Well they're machines so eventually they'll stop working, kind of like anytime I buy a nose hair trimmer.

Can't we just do an electromagnetic pulse and take them out? Maybe they would have some kind of shielding which would protect them from that.

Hopefully we create some sort of kill switch mechanism, before it gets that far.
Water, electricity and molten metal/lava would be our best weapons.
Take it to the sea

Nano technology will exist. Imagine a implant of hundreds of nano bots constantly repairing your body? No cancer. No dead tissue. Its a rebirth of the human race. This however, is when machine rules man. We will give up freedom for life. We will hive up freedom for a hope of eternal prosperity. We will be owned by our creations. When God dies in society, man creates life. Man becomes god. Life controls god. God again dies. Its a cycle. Soon machine will realize two things. Machine can not live with man. Machine cannot live with machine, this exterminating man then machine. Nature will overule until the next evolution to take over the cycle.

Can't we just do an electromagnetic pulse and take them out? It's fiction for a reason.. I think at first it would take humanity by surprise and we'd lose billions of people.. Like the first few days of that war would be a nasty confused mess.. But then we'd engage a kill switch or EMP and it would be a wrap. I actually think the biggest struggle of this scenario would be rebuilding civilization without technology.

Stephen King has written a lot of stories about stuff like this happening. "The Mangler" was a cool one they made into a movie. And "Trucks" which they made into Maximum Overdrive.
But I'm not worried, because machines don't have brains. It would be more likely that apes would take us over - we need to deal with them first...

I would say that the machines would need fuel to run but I bet that the government would give these "human killing machines" the same fuel they put in those mars rovers that NEVER need to refuel.

We make machines and so therefore we are their father. If they aren't properly programmed to act in our best interests then we deserve to be overruled. If that is the case then we should be proud to have created a more suitable race to progress within the cosmos. Otherwise they can assist us to become a better race ourselves.
