Man watching these 2 videos lately still brings tears to my eyes. It's been nearly 18 years and Gorilla's death still affects me. all the shoots/interviews I've seen over the years nobody ever said a bad thing about him and that speaks volumes when it comes to the wrestling business. He was the soundtrack to my childhood and big reason why I got into it in the first place. For my money they'll never be another one like him.
RIP Gino Thank You for making me a fan. The wrestling world will never be the same without you...

Gorilla was the soundtrack of my youth. He and Bobby had the best chemesty of any announcing team ever. You could tell they honestly loved each other and loved cracking jokes one each other, like brothers do.

Too many great quotes from Gorilla. Some of his one-liners were as good as Heenans. I grew up with and loved the duo of JR and Jerry Lawler. While they were great, the team of Gorilla and Bobby are still the most entertaining commentating team of all-time.
It just felt like two buddies busting each other's balls for the entire show while still being able to tell the story in the ring. Pure entertainment. Those two together were magic.

Gorilla: WILL YOU STOP?!!! - I think because of Gorilla, we all know the meaning of the word "nonchalant".

I remember wrestlemania 15 in 1999, which was Monsoon's final appearance on WWETV. It was Bart Gunn V Butterbean in the finals of the brawl for all contest (I think) and they gave you a quick shot of Monsoon at ringside (he was one of the judges) he looked so ill, and frail, you could clearly see, he didn't have much time left to live (maybe a year at absolute tops).

Bobby's good bye, gets me every time. So hard watching him try to hold back the tears in that segment. I mean basically he lost his brother, and thank god he was in WCW at that point, and pretty much insisted they let him give Gorilla that farewell.

Yeah it's still tough watching that clip all these years later. It's amazing he was able to get through that show without fully breaking down.

Gorilla & Bobby were gold together. But seeing Bobby hurting makes me so sad. I legitimately love that man.

Gorilla really made wrestling fun, I will truly miss this man - I wish todays commentators would take a leaf out of Gorillas book.
Corey Graves - just sits there as cold as a stone, like a statue that's been brought up from NXT. Michael Cole - I've always found obnoxious and not particularly likeable Booker T - whilst this guy has a certain degree of charisma, you can still tell he wishes he was somewhere else, and probably cannot wait until David Otunga returns.
I miss commentators that are genuinely likeable, and don't come across as fake/phony.

Just thinking of how incredible Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan were just brings a tear in my eye. Both were genuine masters of psychology. Their supreme chemistry speaks volumes. After revisiting some Prime Time Wrestling episodes, gosh, it was being taken to school from both men.
If you haven't listened to it, I highly suggest listening to Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard talking about Prime Time Wrestling.
The industry will never see a tandem like Heenan and Monsoon.

When I met Bobby at wrestlecon I told him how much I loved watching him and monsoon. Would have liked to be able to tell Gorilla in person too

A point often missed about Monsoon, overshadowed by his tandem with Heenan and his in ring career, is his position as on screen WWF president. He was a breath of fresh air following Jack Tunneys stagniant run as authority figure. Yes Monsoon did mostly side with the faces,as expected, but he put forth a certain sterness that made him come off as an almost neutral power to be. As opposed to the last near 20 years of heel only authority figures, or briefer runs of baby face only figures, i would love to see a more nuetral President or GM. And honestly, if he were still around, Monsoon would be one of a small handful of characters i could list, that would fit that role perfectly. Unfortunately its left to the realm of imagination and possibly a figure fed or two. Plus.....just as an homage to days past, how funny would it be if Heenan got brought on as his assistant! Lol

Lol It's amazing how he stayed on for a few more years even after Joey died. You can see though it took it's toll on him during those final years rightfully so.
