As a wrestling fan there are a few things I collect:
Wrestling books Wrestling DVDs Wrestling figures Wrestling replica belts
I have a decent job but even with decent money I struggle to keep up with buying the things which come out.
I get the feeling I am going to have to give up on the figure side.
Does anyone else have the same issues or has anyone here given up on anything?

I used to collect figures but gave up when I realised how childish it was.

I used to collect figures but gave up when I realised how childish it was. I must say that at 28 I still love the look of the figs. The problem is that I don't play with them so wonder what the point of them is - thats why I am debating the still collecting side of things. I might just keep the odd few which I like.

I used to collect figures but gave up when I realised how childish it was. Anyway, I hear you man. The thing to do is set yourself a budget. Put £__.__ to one side each week to get WWE stuff. Maybe this week you can afford to get four figures, but if you only buy one figure, put the rest of the money towards another series coming out or put to one side for a belt in a couple of weeks. When it comes to figures you have to be more ruthless in your purchases. limit yourself to one figure of each person, unless their upcoming figure is so good you'd regret not buying it. For example.. Don't buy every HBK that comes out just because its HBK. buy one of him, and then maybe get another a few months later if the attire has really changed or if its based on a completely different part of his career. That kinda stuff. I advise you cut back on the belt buying. buying too many is a waste of money because they will de-value each other. I have 4, and i don't intend on buying any more any time soon. I really wish i only had two or even just one.having too many makes you appreciate them less, in my opinion. Also, stop buying DVD's. Download or watch them on youtube. I guarantee that by the end of 08 youtube will be a different place, enjoy it whilst you can. Then, when its become impossible to view dvd's on the net, go back to buying them. I never buy DVD's because the ones i have i never watch, and if theres something i want to see i'll just go and watch it online. Books are good because they aren't released too often and take a fair amount of time to go through. So they make it worth your money.

The way i keep my collection up is when i have money i put WWE stuff as a priority.
Like PPV DVD's if i know a new one is coming out, i save the money to get it. Or if i havent got one in the PPV line i buy it.
So far from this years DVD i am only missing No Way Out.
I also collect wrestlers too but havent brought any for a few weeks

I collect all WWE books, magazines, mini replica belts and DVDs, but I no longer collect any figures. My main pride and joy in the collection would have to be my videos and DVDs as I collect EVERYTHING from across the globe, and have virtually every release including Exclusive US bonus discs etc. They don't come cheap but I budget to what I can afford and go from there.
The main thing is that I enjoy collecting.

I still buy figures. I buy one figure from a series from NWS, which is the one I really really want, I made exception to RA29 Hardy, Edge, and Candice, as they're all great figures and Candice isn't in UK stores.
Gave up on the WWE DVD's about a year ago as the product has went downhill imo. Saved alot of money since I stopped buying those, last WWE DVD I bought was the Benoit DVD.
I buy TNA PPV's and house shows though.
I bought a replica belt about 4 years ago, kinda regretting it, as it just lies there, and now I've got better things to spend my £200 or so on.
I buy books of the people I really really like, such as Edge + Lita.

I love to buy figures still, I'm not a big collector of WWE DVDs I only buy the PPVs which I like so that helps in a way, don't buy the belts, so only the books and figs for me. And I don't plan to stop collecting too!!!!

I still buy figs (I'm 32) but wheras a few years I brought every figure I could I find now I tend to just get the figures that interest me rather than just automatically getting every fig from every set. No way could I get every figure produced any more especially at the rate jakks is pumping them out as to much competition for my money

No I haven't found them yet, I usually order them online at wweeuroshop but they have't had them in stock. I have tried WH Smiths and Woolworths but I have't had any luck, but I know what they look like as they are on the back of the latest WWE UK tour programme. Have you found them yet?, and do you collect them as well?

I have always kept the sideline of buying, selling and trading to get things I want thus the collection rarely costs much to keep going.
I also only collect one of each guy except HBK figure wise so that keeps costs down.
DVD wise I get them when I can, I guess really my main vice is trying to replace my promos I lost and but even that isn't too bad

On a side note what was the DVD which came with the German RA figs a while back?

I grew out of collecting figures years ago - just lost interest.
I'll still read autobiographies, though.

I think there was also a feature with RVD seeing his real scans being made into figures. I didn't bother with the whole set I just bought Carlito and kept it moc, purely for the DVD. I will also PM you regarding the mini DVDs should I find them before you.

I collect figures & buy every WWE PPV DVD.
DVD's come out monthly and I make sure I have enough money to buy those.
Regarding figures, its impossible to collect every figure and have enough money for a normal life (not to mention storage space). I'm a big batista mark, so buy every Batista figure, then try to buy the new 'must have' figures (e.g. WM23 MVP) or figures updating wrestlers outfits.
So for example I will but Batista, Edge, Hardy & HBK from RA29. But won't buy the WM23 HBK Cena pack as RA29 HBK updates this figure, and won't buy any RA30.
