What is this, 2014? Most people have admitted that Roman can wrestle well. It's his booking and overall character that people dislike.

Perfectly capable wrestler. Annoying prick of a character. Superman booking. Just not likeable whatsoever.

Yeah like others said here, the fans criticize his booking more than his wrestling. Heck he made a Last Man Standing match with a out of shape Big Show 2 years ago look great, so he's got the wrestling down. Its the character and booking thats the problem

Those are all the moves he has done in all his matches, but he only uses like 10 of them regularly.

I enjoy Roman's matches for the most part. I just want him to be a bad-ass juggernaut, not the baby kissing Roman.
Most wrestlers limit their move-sets once they're in WWE, so what's new?

Nobody over the mental age of about 13 thinks he's a bad wrestler anyway at this point. I'm always fascinated by what drives people to make those "top 50 mines" and beyond. I can understand a top five or ten, but once you're going over twenty, you're getting into generic body slams and backdrops.

I really can't stand when people count how many moves a wrestler can do. I've seen people put on waaaayyy more entertaining matches with less than 10 different moves than guys that do hundreds.
What does doing a bunch of different moves matter if the moves don't make sense and there's no story being told?

It'd be more accurate if 30 of them were the Superman Punch.

I feel like the fact of wrestlers having a move-set is a concept that is lost on a little of people here. Didn't any of you guys used to play the old PlayStation and N64 games...you liked wrestlers BECAUSE of the 5-10 specific moves they did...in fact you used to watch wrestling to see them perform those moves.
If all wrestlers did like 30 moves, there would be no originality in character. All of these guys know how to do all bajillion of these moves and holds, but they don't do all of them because (1) WWE limits their movesets (2) one of wrestler A's minor moves is actually wrestler B's signature moves (and thus you're treading on his turf/devaluing his character if you use it), and (3) safety/health reasons...these guys perfect their handful of moves it and allows them to execute correctly and stay healthier - just look at what happens when you have guys going outside their "comfort zone" (see Brock SSP at WM 19, and by comfort zone I mean something they don't do nightly).

Not to hijack the thread but didn't Goldberg/Lesnar at Mania do only 4 moves throughout the entire match? German suplex, spear, jackhammer and F-5?

I don't think his in ring work has ever been an issue (although his prelude to the superman punch is corny). He's not bad at all in any aspect, he is just a victim of someone wanting him to be something he is not.

it's all about the writing. and it's not just roman, but he takes most of the heat just as cena did because everything follows from the top face down - if cena or roman are bland corny characters, then the direction of the company is bland and corny. which is really too bad considering the potential.

Who has ever said Roman only has 4 moves? I mean, the guy does a lot of clotheslines, that's one thing I'll mention. But I think everyone is in agreement that he's a good wrestler, he's just got a dreadful character.
Heat of the moment, I said his match with Taker on Sunday was the worst WM main event I'd ever seen. Watched it again 2 days later and it's no where near as bad as I first thought. It's a pretty good match for the story they're trying to tell. Minus the tombstone botch and the miscommunication near the end.

-- Roman Reigns is the BIGGEST Star in WWE right now, because of the booking. The reaction he got on RAW proved it! Soaked in a couple of minutes of pure heat, said 5 words, and the heat kept coming and coming.
THAT'S how you work the fans in 2017: push the character fans love to hate, as not only a good guy, but the top good guy. And the longer he stays as the top good guy, the more the fans are going to hate it... it's brilliant on the E's behalf!
- Personally, it'd be great to see him turn (team with Corbin, as clients of Heyman who could be their vocal piece), but the perfect opportunity has come and gone this past Sunday to turn Roman, so don't hold your breath on him turning anytime soon.
As for his abilities, I can't recall anyone who's been hurt under his watch. He's believable when he performs, that's all that matters. You can do 1 move or 1,000,000 moves; if you're not believable, just stop. Well Roman Reigns IS believable!

No issue with Reigns in ring work either I have to say...Vince is missing a trick by not properly turning him though IMO....
