I think I put the most time into MK3 and UMK3 due to my dad buying me some strategy guide for them. So I'd just sit there and try every Fatality and various finisher for every character over and over. With that said, MK2 is still my favorite. For some reason I was so amazed by the Bruce Lee style fighting noises that Liu Kang made, and thought it was the coolest thing ever at the time.

Definitely MK2, played the hell out of that game as soon as I copped a secondhand market Sega Genesis.

I alwys found MK 1 and 2 very boring to play. 3 and Trilogy had combos and I found the gameplay to be much quicker too.

II by far. Being in the arcades of 1993, it had a whole different feel to it when that game was out and watching people play it.

MKII is my personal favorite. Had friends that worked at a local movie theatre and we would play after they closed the entire night. Actually became pretty good at it. Then when it came out for SNES I honed my skills even more. Sadly all of those skills have disappeared. I still have it on the SNES and I have forgotten almost everything.
