Could the match have been better? Sure.
Could the opponent have been different? Maybe.
Should the steak have been alive? Arguable.
Does any of that matter? No.
We've all felt emotions as fans. Some huge highs like when Jeff Hardy finally won the big one. Some incredible journeys, like the odyssey of CM Punk.
Then pure raw emotion, like last night.
Thank You Taker. You've entertained me since my dad let me tune into Raw for the first time in 2001. You've made hard days brighter, and given me things to look forward to every week, and here lately every year. Thank you for the memories.
I can't think of a more humble and quiet way to leave than how it was done. I made a post a month or so ago discussing how it looked like he was looking hurt and on his way out, and as I stood watching Taker in his coat and hat again, then slowly remove his gloves, hat, coat, and exit the ring as the lights went completely out and the gong was heard one more time, I realized it'll never be the same again for me as a fan.
Thank You Taker, I believe we will only appreciate you more as time passes. Thank you for suspending my belief, even in my now near Mid 20's, to believe.

I know it doesn't look good, but I'm apprehensive that this is it. And the only reason I say that is that the Undertaker is arguably the biggest draw in WM ever and if WWE is all about the money, which they are, then this match would have been hyped up bigger and had a stipulation or something. I hope that he is challenged by Cena for a last match next year. Cena can call into question Undertaker's manhood or legacy, that Undertaker is too scared to face him and thats why he left before he got the chance which will reel him back for a final match at the place his streak was broken. Book it like Shawn Michaels where if Taker can't beat Cena then he no longer has anything to prove.

Book it like Shawn Michaels where if Taker can't beat Cena then he no longer has anything to prove. Taker could hardly walk. He didn't hit half the moves he did years ago, hell not even last year. I think this is it. Let it be, because as much as I love Taker, boy did he look bad. Like really, it was sad to watch because at this point he is a shell of the performer he used to be. He should have been gone a long time ago, and thank God he hung up the boots now before he put his body through irreversible damage. The match with Cena should have happened this year. It's sad that Vince gave Taker his final match against a failed pet project he's tried to get over for 3 years. Nice one Vince.

Book it like Shawn Michaels where if Taker can't beat Cena then he no longer has anything to prove. I would normally agree. But, he looked pretty bad last night. He looked hurt walking around, and has gained a significant amount of weight (could be he is just enjoying his life, could be he physically can't work out like he used to). It honestly reminded me of the movie Logan and that's what I told our guest before the match even started. He mentally wants to still go, but physically he just can't anymore. Like the old saying goes "father time is undefeated."

I was about to type a semi-long paragraph about this but you pretty much summed it up for me, couldn't have said it better myself. It's crazy for me in hindsight cause I remember being 11 when Undertaker was buried alive at Survivor Series 03 against Vince, and while I didn't really believe he was buried, I was legit kind of upset for the next couple months because I thought that might've been a way to permanently write Taker off for retirement and I wouldn't get to see him again. Then ofcourse his ultimate return at RR 04/WrestleMania XX was a wonderful time for me lol but I initially figured he'd only have a 1-2 year run left after, but nope funny enough, he gave us 13 more incredible years ever since his Deadman return.
R.I.P Retire in Peace Taker!

I saw post somewhere online that said: ''Yesterday my childhood returned and retired at Wrestlemania''
Of course it would have been better if he haid retired years ago on a high, but hey. It was still a magical moment!

I was watching on PPV when The Undertaker made his debut. I thought to myself, what the hell kind of gimmick is this? It'll never last! So silly. Here we are a couple of decades later and I can't believe it's over. Sure he didn't look good and when the streak was over his career should have ended as well. But it didn't and here we are now. Taker wasn't my all time favorite but I respect the hell out of him. He had one of the greatest runs ever in this business. There will never be another one like him. Truly an end of an era.

It was the first time I've ever seen Taker live and it will be the last he will ever do. It was awesome just witnessing him in person. I wanted Roman to win I know hate me for it but there's no one that can hate the Undertaker for anything. I wish he would have never lost to Brock if that was the case he shouldn't have lost to Roman either and he could have been undefeated. Plus it was Taker that requested to work this match and put Roman over and how can you not respect someone for doing that on his way out.

Amazing career. Watched him since his debut. Wish his exit had a little more theatrics to it, like rising into the ring they had in the sky. Imo they did no favors to the fans or the undertaker character last night but they did what they thought would be best for their business in the future. I would of had him vs AJ last night. Hard to get into a match when you know the outcome as we know the outcome of everything Roman is booked in.

Cena would have been the better choice. Taker was the first one to give him props after his debut and helped make Cena a star with their feud. Could have been another "I love you/I'm sorry" moment. But it wasn't meant to be.
Another one that would have been great would have been HBK coming out of retirement to put an end to Undertaker. Like had Undertaker been in better health that he could have done a few more matches, have him lose to a few of the younger guys. Have Reigns beat him at Fastlane and claim his yard. Undertaker shows up saying like "It'll be a cold day in hell before I leave my yard." Then HBK comes out to say "Taker has nothing left to prove, it's time to go." Taker goes to chokeslam Shawn be he wiggles out and superkicks Taker. Next week Taker challenges HBK. Shawn refuses but Taker then says if Shawn accepts he'll put his career on the line. Shawn does and for one last time we get HBK vs Taker. Again Undertaker's health would have had to have been better. They have another 5 star match. Shawn gears up for a final Sweat Chin Music goes for it but hesitates, Undertaker is staggering. Shawn looks at him does Taker's slit throat taunt and connects with the Sweet Chin Music. 1. 2. 3. Shawn retires Taker. And then they use the same farewell from last night.

So glad to say I was in attendance for his final match. The greatest of all time. There will never be anyone like him. Thank you Taker!

I still remember when he debuted at SS all those years ago. I knew of him from his run in wCw and was surprised when he popped up. He's had an amazing career and has earned his spot on the Mount Rushmore of professional wrestling.

Honestly, it was long overdue. Should've retired when Brock beat him at 30. Seemed like a wounded animal dragging his way to the end over the last few years.

For my money the greatest gimmick of all time. As others have said there will never be another one like him.
Thank You Taker.
