I was just watching a Bret Hart tribute video and it got me thinking back to my happiest wrestling figure related memory, the day I finally got a Bret Hart figure. I can't quite remember what age I was or the year but I'm sure I had a couple of BCAs by that point but my collection was largely Hasbro with a few Galoob mixed in. Bret Hart was my hero but for birthdays and Christmases I just never got a figure of him. Ha, I even went so far as to cut a picture out of a WWF magazine that was roughly Hasbro size and stick it down onto some cardboard to make it strong and used that as best I could until one day we went to a carboot sale and his guy had a big box full of Hasbros for £1 each, probably filled with Green cards and a moon belly Kamala for all I knew but I was only allowed to select 2 by my parents so I went straight for Bret. And Earthquake. I was pretty pleased to complete the Natural Disasters.
What are your happiest memories? Doesn't necessarily have to be other brands but I felt most of us are probably at that age where these memories are likely to be associated with the older brands.

Top moment I always think about is seeing series 3 at Kaybee (they had most of them) and picking up 7 new figures in one trip which I don't think I've surpassed. That day I got, Quake, Typhoon, Brutus, Hogan, Perfect, Hammer and Tornado. They also had Macho Man in stock, but since it was the same as the Macho King I left it. On top of being such a large haul in a single trip, this is probably my favorite series they put out, and I had gotten the best ones IMO that day.
Honorable mentions:
Finding all of series 4 and LOD at Toys R Us. Only had money for 3 figs, so I chose LOD and Bret. Glad I got LOD that day since I never saw them again at retail, it was that one and only time.
Finding part of S2 at Laneco, got Warrior, Dusty, Duggan and Piper that day.
Finding some of the red cards at Lanceo, got Perfect, Bam Bam and Luger that day.
Finding HBK and Razor repacks into the blue cards at Kaybee. I never saw the yellow cards at retail, and Razor and Shawn were the ones I wanted most from the series.
Forgot about another big moment, getting Macho King, Demolition and Snuka on the last day of school in 91' to finally complete S2.
Too bad I don't have any super memories of S1 and seeing Hasbros for the fist time. First time I saw them, Toys R Us had hundreds, but for some reason all they had were Beefcake, Jake and Rude. Probably the ones I wanted least from the series. No Hogans, Machos, Warriors, Demos or anything.

I remember being a young lad back in England and knowin series 1 was coming. The day I walked into asda and saw them I'll never forget. Had what seemed to be the largest stock bin on earth filled with them.
My mum had offered me two and I gladly took myself a green warrior and Andre. What a day.

drnickriviera995 your avatar reminds me of one of my most stand-out wrestling figure memories. I went to the shops and while my mum was doing the shopping i looked in WWF magazine and there was the new HBK Shawn Michaels. Well, needless to say I was excited, because we all had to make do with Rocker Shawn, and he sucked. Especially as he'd thrown Marty Jannetty through the barbershop window. When I got back I went and saw my fellow Hasbro-collecting friends and crowed about how I'd seen the new Shawn in singles gear. I described it in detail. He was in white and red, shades, had the punch mechanism. My friends were sceptical. All they had to do was look in the magazine but since I hadn't bought it, I couldn't show them. They didn't believe me. Then the figure came out, and... he didn't have the punch mechanism. I was convinced. I guess I just got it wrong. Many years later I would come across this forum and see that promotion picture again and sure enough Shawn did have that mechanism. and even though none of those old friends were around to see it, i was absolved of all wrongdoing by the court of wrestling figure arbitration.

So, so many.
Finding LJNs at garage sales in the 80s/90s and sorting through them to find the ones I never saw in stores or simply didn't ever get. I remember once, while on a weekend vacation in NY, my parents spent the morning driving around aimlessly looking for garage sales. One home had a large box of LJNs, and while I don't remember who I passed on, I do remember that I got the Bulldogs and Mr. Fuji w/cane! Perhaps one or two more, but that's all I can remember. Many similar stories happened but none as vivid as that one.
Being surprised at the stores when finding new LJN series that had current wrestlers.
Walking into TRU one day and seeing the Hasbros for the first time ever.
Finally finding certain Hasbros that I yearned for but had trouble finding.
After Hasbros were gone, going to every possible store hoping to find something new & better than Jakks, Playmates, and JusToys (although I did end up collecting these a few series in). And always coming up short until WCW Toy Biz came out and I finally had something I wanted to buy.

I always loved the LJN line but I only had a few kinda rough shape ones from when I was really little since I was born in 1990.
When I was in my teens for a while I would go to the flea market every weekend and I thought I'd found my biggest best score ever in a 1-5 dollar bin of a few dozen at least that I just offered the guy fifty bucks for and he gave me the bin too (it was so heavy, Andre alone is so heavy and he was in there.)
Weeks or months went by, I'm not sure, but I was over at another flea market and I come across one of those one time sellers, who was just here for the weekend as opposed to having a semi-permanent booth, she had...an LJN ring with the box...I don't even think I'd seen it online yet and I totally flipped, I happily gave her the twenty bucks and went homeward, even after all these years it still looks great! (Though I did clean it a bit and get new ropes)
I have to say this is one of my favourite posts I've seen, I never get tired of stories like these.

I'd say getting my first Hasbro. It was Hulk 2/bear hug Hogan. I had 0 idea these existed and only had some LJN's that were beat to hell from by older brother. I was DEEP into wrestling and my mom bought it for me and gave it to me right before some school event. I went everywhere with it, I was totally enamored. I was just in awe that something so awesome existed. Then to find out there were more?! Still one of my favorite all time toy lines.

For Christmas in 2003 I got this 6 pack, ebid.s3.amazonaws.com/upload_big/2/8/9/1369017520-19423-13.jpgwhich was so awesome and my first new wrestling figures from a place other than yard sales since the 90's with the BCA figues as I lived in rural Nova Scotia Canada and no store around carried wrestling figures until we got a WalMart in 2007 or so but my Mom traveled into Halifax that winter of 2003 and got me this set and I played with them to death aside from the B&W Undertaker which is still in his package as for some reason I never wanted to take him out.

Going to my first live event, a house show in the summer on 1997. My mom let me buy a Bret Hart(Jakks) action figure and a pair of his shades.

I remember finding the first bossman figure at payless (riteaid now) and barely having enough to buy it. My mom went to Albertsons to go grocery shopping and I stayed in the car to play with bossman. we didn't have much money as a kid so I was surprised when she came back with hulk v1 saying that bossman needed someone to fight

My brother pranked me one year. I always wanted the big 15 inch Roddy Piper figure. I couldn't find him anywhere. Only Hogans. He gives me a box for my birthday one year & I'm thinking it's the Piper I could never find. I tear the wrapping paper off...only to see a talking Pee Wee Herman doll.
Prick.
