Hey,
I've recently been getting back into wrestling and wrestling video games big time. Mostly oldschool stuff and just things I watch from the archives, as I'm still having trouble adapting to the new product I don't really recognize yet, but I'm able to enjoy the one game I have full-time access to even with its flaws (WWE 2k16 for XB1) and I don't know who about 80% of the newer wrestlers really are. I still love the game and am finally into and digging SCSA's little mode on there. I don't believe it's in 2k17 which is a major turnoff for me... I had hoped they would do something like that again, only with more wrestlers and angles instead of just SCASA (as it seems?...or...?) in 2k16 which will inevitably end soon. I'm about 55% complete w/ questlines I did not fulfill the first match around as well.
Anywho, in playing a lot of 2k16 and watching wrestling and old WWF (a lot of attitude era I admit!) stuff, I'm kind of looking at older games from the (I think) 5th gen systems which would be OG Xbox (RAW 2 is the main one/only one and I AM* *interested in it, esp. since I just found my old og Xbox and got it working even w/ its busted up disc tray), Dreamcast ("Royal Rumble" I own and it's terrible; the ECW games are brutal as well...so unless I missed something big time...?), GameCube (I have the Wrestlemania game w/ Hulk, RVD, and one other interesting face on the cover to go w/ the other 2, but I'm forgetting....its best part? The cover. By FAR.....Tho while the WM games were a flop for as I just kinda alluded to, I've heard good things about Day of Reckoning 1 + 2 but esp. 2?...Curious since I have a cube and Wii still...and controllers that work), and of course PS2 (HCTP, but what other games were on PS2 and good WWF/E titles back then? I didn't get into Smackdown Vs. Raw until it came to the Xbox/360*)
*I think there's a few early Smackdown vs. Raw games only on PS2, but I don't recall if they made it onto 360 later on or not? I do think I may have had 2007 for Xbox360 at one point for sure. I also think that game may have been a pretty solid one as some were most def. better than others...I had a lot of them until I sold them off yrs back to someone.
Besides that gen. I also admit I'm very curious about a few WWE games to come out in more recent time.... I am really wanting a game with an attitude era theme (which is why I really do dig this Austin mode on the WWE16 game so far), and I've been told WWE 13 has a really good one? I tried to order a copy some time back for my 360, but the people who sent it to me sent a disc that had been glued together. I got a full refund and they didn't have me bother to send back the case or instructions, but I still have yet to buy a single disc. Is the game still worth playing if you're an attitude buff and liked that era of the WWE game? I hear very good things and like the cutscenes i've watched, albeit not too many. It looks good and advertises an attitude mode but then again I've also read that a lot of the storylines were downloadable, and created on the download market. So with it now being 2017 I kind of question if that will even be up and open to access anymore, leaving me to ask is the game still worth it? Assuming I can find a disc-only deal and be assured the disc isn't gonna be junk or a cheap one with a generic case on amazon prime maybe? I have more interest in this than most any else esp. since all I'd need to have the game in whole is a working disc. + It just looked good and I never got to play it....
WWE 14 I've heard is also a really good game some people say, but i've heard others say it was a huge step back from 13. I'm not sure, but I think 14 cut off competitive servers when 16 came out, a long time ago now. I don't know about downloads but i think so too, though maybe this was 2k14? I don't know. it has the Rock on the title. I heard '15 w/ Cena on the title was kinda a dud.
And that's about that..... I'm open to suggestions to games I didn't name. I own all the old N64 gems save for No mercy and wm2000 right now, oddly. I want to find a copy of no mercy w/o the "Save glitch" or whatever it is called, and my last few copies of WM2000 I've bought all never have loaded. I want them admittedly. I do have WCW for now...
thanks in advance for help if you have played any games for those systems up there. I'm really looking to play some that aren't complete current gen since my controllers are busted right now and i have older consoles & have heard some good things about these. RAW 2 intrigues me a lot but it also seemed to get mixed reviews.
OK anyway. thanks again to anyone who may help.
