I know a lot of people want a pink Surfer Sting(er) Elite figure. I am with all of those folks, although I think I probably differ on which one(s) in particular. Personal preference on my end would be his hot pink appearances, which granted, he would tend to wear black boots with, whereas the duller pink sometimes was paired with matching pink boots. That is obviously one often referenced by collectors. I just think that the brighter, more popping pink colored tights along with pink, purple & black (and sometimes blue also) mixed in the face paint palette happens to appear so much better & could possibly even be more appealing. Simply pink, black & white (i.e. WCW Beach Blast 1992 vs. Cactus Jack) seems to slightly lack vibrancy, as it pertains to lots of black & white being in the paint scheme at least. That is not to say that I am necessarily opposed to that latter mention, nor would I be against another I've read referenced on here before: Halloween Havoc 1990 vs. Sid (w/Barry Windham interfering as an "identical" imposter).
Plenty have requested and pointed out both of those in the recent past. I want to reiterate that I would totally buy those in a heartbeat. In fact, I hope something of the sort is already in the works. However, below I shall show a few examples of something similar, except with the tights tweaked in tint/tone that became equally well-known. Plus, pink & purple paired together always worked well on Sting. Evidently, Steve Borden must have thought so too, because he busted out different variations of the look rather frequently over the years, especially in the mid-90s and early Nitro era (including infamous debut episode), as well as at/in several promotional events & materials! Furthermore, if it could somehow mean the addition of an awesome, renowned jacket worn as entrance attire with said, vivid, vibrant versions of this ring gear with any of these makeup styles, then that would be nothing short of an exhilarating, enthralling & enamoring bonus in my book! Anyhow, check out what I mean in the following few photos (four separate appearances) found upon the web via quick perusing & feel free to weigh in with respective opinions:
In this motorcycle pic, he actually has the lighter/dull pink tights on, so one can compare which shade/hue is preferred to one's own liking, I suppose. Still digging the hot pink on my end!
Continuing on, here are some other pink-clad looks to compare/contrast:
And finally, just because I love having a mishmash amid the spectrum, as in the yellow tights w/blue scorpion + orange boots . . . and because I couldn't contain myself from getting a bit carried away . . . even if I prefer different colors/styles of face paint when wearing these tights . . . often with blue boots instead of orange ones worn during this SuperBrawl III strap match (and in multiple matches @ Starrcade/BattleBowl 1991):
For the heck of it, here's another bunch (but I could provide infinitely many, it seems . . . WHY don't we have every color ALREADY?!!??!!?):
The above light blue, dark blue & white face paint pic I'd probably prefer Bill just take a creative liberty and reverse/reciprocate the white tights/blue scorpion, which Sting also actually wore as well, of course, because what DIDN'T he sport, after all? In fact, here's proof:
These tights with that promo photo face paint from above would be a stellar pairing!
Alas, below is the last look I'm going to display, folks! It is the extremely memorable moment of 1996 "Free Agent" in-ring Nitro interview segment Sting. It was also his final Surfer Stinger appearance & yet another vital/pivotal/crucial/critical look desperately needing done for that era just a bit before he became "Crow" Sting. TNF BATB 3-pack face sculpt is practically perfect to depict his portrayal of fierce, ferocious anger with being betrayed by his friends & the company alike having previously lost trust in him. I feel as if Surfer Sting hasn't popped in enough when we've either expected or even "least expected" it in the Mattel line, and to that, I just want to cut a promo the likes of this to Bill Miekina about how he & HIS company can "stick it!" Only next time you see me, I most likely will not be draped in black nor wielding a baseball bat. I certainly won't be silent neither, for I clearly have much to exclaim through written words! Meanwhile, plenty of concurring posters are around here who can settle that score, whilst simultaneously supporting Surfer Stinger and assisting in demanding pumping out more products of the character. BUT ANYWHOOOO . . .
