Very curious about this because I've seen those who go the customization route to have NJPW/ROH Figures...do you think Mattel would ever be interested in doing it?

Sure Bill would love to but doubt WWE would allow it.

It'd be awesome, but I'm sure there's an exclusivity clause in their contract.
It'd probably ably have to be an online specialty item. I'm sure the Bullet Club guys would sell well and maybe a couple big names from ROH like Briscoes and Daniels, but I think anyone else would be a big gamble.

I think it's possible. Word on the dirtsheets is that there have been advanced talks of either WWE acquiring ROH, or at least distribution on the WWE Network. So, if that happens, then definitely. Maybe not NJPW, but ROH may happen.

It would be like the TNA/Jakks deal. Sure diehard wrestling fans know about that promotion but the people you are trying to get sells from don't give a hot damn enough to buy them. WWE makes Mattel very good money and visa versa. Mattel not taking a risk on a virtual unknown wrestling company and WWE is not letting someone come into their house to take money out of their pockets.

If they could get the rights to Jushin Liger and Great Muta at least that would be sooooo awesome

I would say yes, however, all current WWE molds would probably be off-limits.

They're not mainstream enough in the US for Mattel to even consider it.

Probably not. It would be a conflict of interests to make another companies wrestlers while they are in the middle of a contract with the WWE.

It would be amazing, even if it only allowed for currently signed talents to be made, there would be lots of 80s/90s/2000s flashbacks to make.

I just wouldn't see the benefits for Mattel to partner with ROH. It's a very niche product compared to WWE, and NJPW figures would probably be better off being made by a Japanese company (if they aren't already).

Of course not. It would be a conflict of interest with their WWE line, and they're a mainstream toy company so it would serve them no purpose to do a niche wrestling line anyway.

You guys want ROH and we can't even get the great Legends that did wrestle in the WWE. It would be impossible for Mattel to make wrestlers that aren't even with the same wrestling company.

First of all, they cant because Mattel cannot acquire the license to make toys for other wrestling promotions. Second, even if they could, why would they want the NJPW and ROH licenses when they could get the UFC license which would outsell their WWE line?

I wouldn't mind a Lucha Underground line. Theres only a couple people I'd want from an ROH/NJPW line to include elites of Omega, Young Bucks, Bully Ray, Cole, Lethal, Daniels, Okada, Ibushi and Tanahashi.
But from LU I'd take anybody with a mask really. Vampiro as a flashback and current and same with Konnan.

FTC already has a contract with ROH. Not that Mattel would make figures for ROH anyway.
This isn't ever going to happen. If you want Mattel figures of ROH and NJPW guys you better hope those guys sign with WWE.
