I know when going through old Superstars shows, I seem to skip the Bad News Brown, Hacksaw Duggan, Koko B. Ware, Rougeau and Killer Bees matches.

- There matches with HHH at the past two WMs did them no favors in getting over as top faces and both are cringeworthy on the mic.

It's a shame that HHHs match with Ambrose at Roadblock is often overlooked, as it's easily his best 1v1 match against the Shield trio and arguably his best match over the past 3 years. It was basically the opposite of his WM matches due to... 1) Story - Going into Roadblock, the story was that HHH overlooked Dean, and Dean was out to prove he could put a game plan together. Once we got to match time, Dean was the main aggressor throughout and worked over Hunters knees for the majority of the match. The crowd also started 50/50, but by the end they were 100% in favor of Dean. Neither Roman or Seth managed to do that. 2) Entrances - Like I said earlier, the heel should NEVER have the cooler entrance. I get it's Hunters thing now, but when his recent WM matches have been boring affairs, it's all the fans remember rather than the face or anything they did in the ring. At Roadblock, he had his normal entrance, so it couldn't distract from his match with Ambrose. Sadly, both WM matches left both Rollins and Reigns in worse shape IMO, as both are currently lame faces with little direction (Rollins much more so than Reigns due to nobody looking better than Roman). I cringe when both are on the mic, and couldn't care less about what either are doing. |

I moved this to the non classic board seeing it was getting more mondern wrestler responses.
As for the topic I never really fast forwarded matches until recently.
But back in the day I would leave the room or switch channels when Konnan, LaParka WCW and Brooklyn Brawler in the WWF. As for modern there are plenty tops being Ambrose.

Konnan by far, no way was he the huge star he claims to be. Dude sucks at wrestling. He was a huge star. His in-ring work wasn't anything to write home about, but his promo work and crowd reactions had him as a top guy in WCW. I couldn't stand Jeff Jerrett in WWF, but I enjoyed his Slap Nuts run. Godwins were awful. Mideon made me channel until he started his comedy schtick. In WCW, I couldn't watch The Wall, Filthy Animals, The Vampire gimmick, and I hated the nWo hollywood red/white run. I also flipped channels to Raw with guys like Super Calo and Alrx Wright. Today's wrestlers lose alot of my attention. I can't stand Ambrose. 205 is a total bust. Reigns gunna Reign, WWE title not being on weekly TV... there is so much to bitch about today. |
