Several sites have reported the GBOF main event is going to be a quick squash match 😕 Yeah, but how would anyone know that? I doubt WWE goes around and tells everyone that. Not to mention they most likely haven't even figured out the layout of the match yet. Sounds like more speculation from so called "fans" who want nothing more than to complain. Daily wrestling news (dirt sheet basically). I of course can't find the article now because their site kills my iPad and is hard to navigate as is. But they are correct on backstage reports more often than not...but they are also way off at times too. I hope way off this time as that report came out a week or so before extreme rules.

On a side note, I am glad to see the Miz is killing it again. He really should still be on Smackdown and in the world title picture. His body of work the past year has been to good to not be in the title hunt.
He is a guy that plays the bad guy so well he will never get cheered, I would book to beat Brock if I could just because he would take that momentum and do something special with it despite wwe creative. It could be a sleepy win too just as long as Lesnar didn't get his win back....Miz is like Piper in the fact that you want to see him loose or Heenan because you always wanted to see him get his due.

I forgot to mention, The Miz segment was excellent last night too. He's been killing it.
But man, the Joe/Heyman promo was a grand slam. The off-mic portion, in particular, was Samoa Joe at his absolute best. To me, it seems like Paul Heyman is going to go to bat for Samoa Joe in an attempt to ensure this match is competitive. I think Heyman has enough influence over Brock that if he sells Joe the right way, Brock will be motivated to put the effort in. A straight squash would be a huge mistake, and I think Heyman knows that.

I really don't get this place at times. Joe/Lesnar is the match people have been begging for for years. Now we get it people aren't even prepared to give it a chance? I'm pumped for it more than I ever have been after last night. I fully expect Lesnar to win but to say it'll be a 5 minute squash is just bizarre.

Where the hell were Bayley and Balor last night? I know Matt Hardy's wife is having another baby so that's why he may have been off the show. I thought Raw was decent. Joe/Heyman segment was great. I like how in the Miz segment he assumed the bear was Ambrose and in the box there was Ambrose. I was at the show last night. After the cameras went off, Wyatt came out and both he and Joe beat down Seth. Then Balor came outside to make the save. Have no idea why they didn't feature him on the show, since he was obviously there, but he did make an appearance.

So, I'm going to throw my hat in the ring and name John Cena as the attacker on Cass.
Cass said the person attacking him left behind a chain. Chain Gang Baby. The reason they haven't been able to identify the attacker is because they can't see him.
Don't mess with John Cena he's a bad bad man.

I'm pumped for it more than I ever have been after last night. I fully expect Lesnar to win but to say it'll be a 5 minute squash is just bizarre. Look at the last three years and look at the guys Brock has actually wrestled against. I was super excited to finally get Orton vs Brock and the match was absolutely terrible. I think there is about a 90% chance Brock will take Joe to Suplex City and the match will be a huge disappointment. It's that 10% though that still has me hanging onto the excitement we should have over this match. Brock's great matches since returning are Cena at ER 2012, vs CM Punk at SS13, and vs Cena and Rollins at RR15. Two of those matches featured the untouchable face of the franchise and that other match featured one of Paul Heyman's closest friends. Maybe Joe falls somewhat into that Punk category by association but it seems unlikely Brock is going to go out there and really help try and make Joe. So I don't blame people for heading into that match with low expectations. I don't think it's strange or confusing at all. History has led us to this place as far as I'm concerned. I did think Brock vs Goldberg was a fun match at Mania. So I'd take something shorter and super hard hitting if they wanted to follow more of that formula with Joe. Just because it's 5 minutes long doesn't necessarily mean it will be bad. I think the fear though is that it will be short in the way KO vs Brock was short. So an unceremonious squash. I hope you're right though. I hope it's an amazing match where Brock goes over but Joe gets over with his performance. I hope we're talking about it as a MOTY when it's over. That's the potential those two have together in the same ring. I think it should have a Joe vs Kenta Kobashi type of ceiling.

That's the potential those two have together in the same ring. I think it should have a Joe vs Kenta Kobashi type of ceiling. I would also rate Lesnar/Reigns pretty highly. I think some people discredit that match purely because Roman was in it, or focus solely on the Seth cash in, but that's where Reigns' in ring work really turned a corner to me (the Bryan match just prior was good too), and they beat the piss out of each other. Otherwise, I more or less agree. I might be a little more optimistic, but I certainly have concerns. I'm really excited for this match, and I'd like to think the way Heyman quite obviously had his hand in Monday's segment is an indication that he, and by extension, Brock, is taking the match seriously. Ultimately, we know the goal is for Brock to put Roman over, and so he's going to beat Joe. I don't think, at this stage of the game for Brock, that there's anything to gain by doing a five minute squash match. Brock can get competitive with Joe, beat him clean in the end, and still go on to do his job next year. It won't make a damn bit of difference, and a good, competitive match with Lesnar (even in defeat) is going to do wonders for Joe as a credible threat in the future. I have reservations, without a doubt, but I think Joe is one of the few guys that has been handled with extreme care since his main roster debut. He's been protected nearly every time he's lost (which hasn't been much), and he was portrayed immediately as Triple H's hired killer. They seem to have some interest in at least making him more than the average big bruiser.

This week's Raw was pretty damn great. That Samoa Joe segment was incredible. Joe talking to Heyman in such a calm, frank and to-the-point manner was chilling. Put yourself in Heyman's shoes, someone telling you word for word what they were going to do to you in such a matter of fact way, god damn that's frightening!
It was Anton Chigurh like. The ultimate cool, calm and collected villain. Those are the scariest types. It's so different and refreshing from the usual promos where everyone is yelling about what they're going to do and trying to be intense and intimidating by being loud and screaming their point across.

Thought the Miz and Samoa Joe segments were stellar. One of the more enjoyable RAWs I've watched in a while
