What an entertaining stable during the dying days of WCW. I remember being behind them during their feud with the No Limit Soldiers in 99. It's a shame they didn't last long but at least they held the tag belts twice.
And who could forget these classics....

So basically you were in the majority lol. How anyone thought that the No Limit Soldiers were going to get over as a big face stable is beyond me.

Any group that had Barry Windham in it was gonna end up being great! So I wasn't shocked that fans cheered them on instead of the No Limit Soldiers.
Didn't the Filthy Animals kind of get created because of the No Limit Soldiers though??

The sad thing to think about his how much money they probably pissed away to have Master P appear for the one appearance. Yeah, I know his cousin was one of the guys in the group, but no way he did that for free. I would love to know the money they wasted actually in total on the one offs for Master P, Kiss and James Brown.

Honestly, they were awful....The guys in the group werent bad...in fact they were great wrestlers but the gimmick was just awful. It flies under the radar though because as mentioned, the other option was NLS.

Supposedly, this was Curt Hennig's favorite gimmick that he had

I loved the rap is crap song as a kid. I was an adult when they were around and I loved "Rap is Cr@p" then and still believe it now. lol And the Filthy Animals was when I stopped liking Rey Mysterio. I lost all respect for the guy when he started coming out with horns glued to his forehead. I used thought (and still do) that was the stupidest thing I ever saw in wrestling.

This whole feud was hilariously awful. Much like the WWF's music feud, Jeff Jarrett vs Mabel, there were no stakes to it. Music feuds never actually work. What I remember about this feud was that most crowds didn't care about the No Limit Soldiers at all, and just laughed at the West Texas Rednecks. Perhaps it did have an end, but I remember it just being dropped. However, I liked listening to Mr. Perfect try to convince everyone that he was a redneck and actually trying to rap during a promo. It was all surreal.

Ok, I went back to refresh my memory more of the feud, and how did WCW think the start of it was the right way? Henning tries to give a present, gets said present destroyed, and then attack him with a cake. So you have a heel, acting more like a face, to the face group, and in response, the faces, act like a heel towards him, wtf? And while I know it's not accurate info, Wikipedia says Master P got $200,000 for his one appearance. That is pretty sickening. And man, the whole NLS crap was just another in a line of bad gimmicks for Brad Armstrong. He had to go from this crap, to then doing the crappy knock off of his brother the Road Dogg, with that bad knock off of the New Age Outlaws theme.

I'm not the biggest country fan in the world but I've always despised rap music with a passion so I remember marking out when they aired the ''Rap is Crap'' music video.
I can believe this was Hennig's favorite gimmick as you can tell he had a blast playing the part. They may be far from the greatest stable but overall I enjoyed their brief run together.

I've never been able to deal with country or bluegrass music, which is the ironic reason that I thought "rap is crap" was so great. It was designed to be an assault on the ears, but it's still better than 99.9% of actual country music.
