This is the polar opposite of the already existing "What are some things you miss about wrestling?" thread.
In here you can list things you are glad are either gone completely from wrestling (or just WWE), or that used to be a common occurrence that have since become a rarity.
- Blading. In my mind, this is one of the dumbest things about wrestling, and I am so glad that they banned it. I just cannot understand why anyone would happily cut into their skin unnecessarily. There was absolutely never any need for it. You can tell an engaging story without resorting to blood. Wrestlers can put together a 5 star match without resorting to blood. You can see the long-term effects of this barbaric practice, as evident by the scars on the bodies of men like Abdulluh the Butcher, Sabu, New Jack, etc.
- ECW. On a very similar note to my first point, ECW was just a hotbed of brutality and stupidity.
- Women's wrestling being regarded as a complete joke. On a whole, the women's division in WWF/WWE throughout the late 90s to 2015 (with the exception of Trish/Lita) was treated abysmally, with frequent bra and panties matches, ridiculous angles, short matches, and just many other things that were just demeaning to women. Thankfully the gigantic inequality gap has been closed significantly since 2015, but there is still a long way to go. Almost irreparable damage was done to the division, that I think will take at least a generation to fix. But the important part is that progress continues to be made.

New Jack I didn't find anything he did entertaining. Just sickening. So I don't miss that. Robo-cop, David Arquette, Vince Russo. Chamber of Horrors match.

The Dungeon Of Doom. I've rewatched Nitros from 1995 and i just can't get over how bad they were. Terrible gimmicks like Duke Droese, Isaac Yankem, etc. Chair shots to the head.

Chair shots, especially unprotected ones to the head.
Blading, you don't need blood to tell a story.
The Women being treated as sexual objects.

Lot of Attitude Era tropes like overly sexual and lude content to the point where it wasn't funny or entertaining anymore. Heels never winning clean, footballers getting pushes and overly political backstage nonsense.

Blading can be a beautiful thing if done correctly. So yeah I miss that and will disagree with anyone who says they don't. Like PJ said...New Jack.. that guy. And the Dungeon of Doom stuff is so bad its good imo. Hogan screaming that the water wasn't , in fact, hot...still puts a smile on my face.

The old over the top rope DQ rule. Although it was never a WWF practice. But i just thought that even though it was ,basically, a backdoor for a DQ ending to protect guys, it was antiquated by the 80s.
As for WWF things i don't miss, the Hardcore division. I actually liked it during Crash Hollys run ,but after a while it was meaningless. Having a division devoted to chair shots, falls counting anywhere, and super violent spots, rendered the use of any of the above less effective when used during actual story lines elsewhere on the card.

Blood. When I was a teenager during the Attitude Era I demanded more gore! Now I just think of the damage those poor men and women are doing to their bodies lol

I disagree completely about blood. Huge finales to feuds along with Hiac's and ladder matches require it to help tell a story. From 2008 Hiac's have looked so stupid because the wrestlers are suppose to be fighting in a barbaric match. However blading isn't needed and it never has been why can't they use capsules instead?
Now back on to the thread these are what I have no desire to see again. HLA Diva search Tough enough Woman wrestling during the Attitude era Brawl For All
That's all I can think of.

So I counter-pointed your counter-point. There is no need to get all agitated at my interpretation of your views.

I didn't mind blood and in some matches it is needed. Any type of cage match or street fight needs some sort of blood in my opinion. It doesn't need to be a crimson mask or anything like that. If not then what's the point? In a cage if someone is raking someone's face across the cage, slamming their heads into the steel supports & doors or when someone uses weapons on their opponents. Without blood there's believability to it.

One thing that immediately comes to mind is those distasteful angles like HLA and Katie Vick.
I agree with others in that blood is fine when the matches call for it like Cage,HIAC, etc.

Yep, pretty much came here to post about the sexual objectification of women. I watched the Trish Stratus DVD recently, and now that I'm 25, seeing the things she had to do, even though she was fine with it, really made me uncomfortable. Thinking of some of the girls now and if they had to do that kind of thing almost makes me feel violated considering some of them are the same age as me.

I have something to say to that.... starts with the letter F ends with uck, and followed by You! How dare you say that!! Kevin Nash really isn't as bad as people say or think he is. When you look at all the big guys in wrestling, Nash is one of the best. He ranks higher than a lot of dudes, and even someone like AJ Styles said that Nash doesn't get the credibility that he deserves.

Nash is one of the greatest wrestlers of the 90's and has put on many awesome matches over the years. Also wrestling would've died if it wasn't for Nash because there would be no nWo or Monday Night wars which means that the WWE would currently be in a graveyard with WCW.

I can watch him in listen to him occasionally then I get disgusted by him lol
