I often wonder what it would've been like if they did go with Sting as the 3rd man. IMO it would've been just as big as Hogan turning since Sting was considered the heart and soul of WCW.
It's a shame we never got to see a proper heel Sting run during his WCW days and no I don't count that botched attempt in late 99.

If you believe books and shoots, the orginial choice was Davey Boy, then Bret, then Sting until they finally decided on Hogan.

I was reading an old 1996 Powerslam mag the other day and it said something like the original choices were Bret but he wouldn't sign, they discussed Mabel, Luger, Douglas? not sure why, crush and others but decided on Hogan - definately the best choice in my mind. WAAAAAY better than mabel! Sure they had eyes on Davey but think that was when the Giant joined as they had planned on Davey or 123 kid but as neither were available due to contracts they went with Giant.
