One of the greatest moments in history. It felt like 1998 but it was 2011.

One of those moments where you thought good wrestling would be back, but it was fleeting and quickly faded just like every bright spot the last 15 years sadly.

One of the most incredible moments in my nearly twenty years as a fan. Man, I miss Punk.

To me, that's one of the most overrated moments in wrestling history. So he did a worked shoot. Cool!

This will always be one of the greatest moments I witnessed as a fan. Next to Jeff finally winning the big one at Armaggeddon.
Moments like these are hard to find in the last years though. The only other memorable one for me would be Finn returning to Japan at Beast in the East with the streamers and stuff.
Anyway, one of the best promos of all time.

It had a feel of the late 90s, because it wasn't an over scripted promo, that by that time, had become all too common. It was like in the 90s, where they were would just give the guy the point that needed to be put across, and put out there, to cut the promo on the fly. You look at some of the greatest promos in wrestling history, they weren't done from a script by a bunch of writers.

Should have led to bigger and better things for the company and for Punk. Instead we got Kevin Nash, a text message, and yeahhh... you know the rest.
That was the first and only time I thought things would change for the better but boy oh boy was I wrong. The next month it was back to the same lame ass stuff.

A lot of cool moments happened over the past 10 years that made us think, "something big is gonna happen now!" And nothing happens. Instead it's like Vince and his writers think, "well that angle worked, it got people interested and talking, let's go back to the formula we were doing so fans can get involved in that."

As good as it was sadly it didn't lead to anything special. He had a record breaking title reign which started off good but once he turned heel a year later all the momentum died and he became a generic coward who cheated to win.
Punk could've been the second coming of Steve Austin and should've been strongly booked and remained a face, who knows maybe he could've still been here today.

Punk's reign was turned to crap long before he turned heel. He was rarely in the main event of PPVs, I mean for God's sake, John Laurinaitis main evented a PPV over Punk.

How can you guys say "nothing special" happened afterwards?? What did y'all want to happen?
We got to see some amazing matches that probably would have never happened without that promo. Punk had a title reign for 434 days! He created a legacy.
Cena vs punk was very special and had everyone out their seats Punk vs hhh Punk vs Jericho Punk vs UNDERTAKER AT WRESTLEMANIA... (Sure it didn't go on last, but it HAPPENED) Punk vs LESNAR..
Cm punk made me and hundreds of thousands of people wrestling fans again. I shake my head at all of you just saying it wasn't as good as it could have been. It's easy to sit here and type out "how you would book it", but imagine ACTUALLY being HHH or Vince and putting those bookings to life.. while staying in shape, raising a family, and managing all the other talent.
They did a damn good job with Cm Punk and I hope to see him back in the ring some day, but if he doesn't at least I enjoyed the time he was there.

At least nowadays we get promos from Bray Wyatt which I never understand a word he's saying, so that's cool.

Oh absolutely the lack of main events really put a damper on his title reign but the heel turn was the final nail. I hate to say it but the pipe bomb was the beginning of the end.

It's sad how through that entire reign, Cena was pretty much treated more like he was the champion than Punk was. and while it wasn't a great feud to begin with, the Laurinaitis was Punk's. He was the guy that was going against the corrupt system, yet low and behold, it ends up being Cena as the man that takes him down.

It was awesome. I'd love for the people saying overrated to point out whose cutting better promos than this. It wasn't a great promo because it was a worked shoot, it was the conviction and story telling that went into it. You can't tell me that man did not put his ing heart into it when he was there.

The Nexus debut pisses all over this.

Another big case of WWE Dropping the ball, Instead of getting behind Punk and kick starting a new boom period for the company, we got Kliq member vs. Kliq member.
