So I shared a post on Facebook about today being the 19 years since the infamous Hell in a Cell match between The Undertaker and Mankind. I stated it was perhaps the most famous wrestling match in history and a friend commented that it's definitely in the Mt Rushmore of wrestling, which got me thinking what else would go on it. Not going off the greatest matches but the most famous?
Taker vs Mankind Hell in a Cell? Hogan vs Andre? TLC 2? Rock vs Austin Wrestlemania 17?

Lack of Bret/Austin from Wrestlemania 13 is lacking.

Am I the only one completely lost on the Taker-Kane HIAC match in '98 that the OP is talking about? I dont think I can put it in the Mt. Rushmore if I cant even recall it..
With that said Id go with the following...
Ricky Steamboat vs Ric Flair (Clash of the Champions) Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant (Wrestlemania III) Steiner Brothers vs Miracle Violence Connection (Beach Blast '92) 1992 Royal Rumble match

I'll throw another one out there...Hogan/Mr. T vs Piper/Orndorff. If that match flopped there would be no WM today.

Most famous? Pretty easy actually
1. Hogan vs. Andre WM 3
2. Hogan and Mr. T vs. Pipper and Orndorff WM 1
3. Taker vs. Mankind HIAC
4. Austin vs. Rock WM 19

Hogan/Andre from WM III Hart/Michaels from WM XII Austin/Rock from WM 17 Punk/Cena from MITB 2011 Good choices they all cover four different eras of wrestling. I would probably swap Austin/Rock for Taker/Mankind though.

Savage-Steamboat is great but I didnt want to put 2 matches from 1 event. While Savage-Steamboat was a better worked match, Hulk-Andre might be the more memorable match of all time.

Going by best well known, rather than necessarily best matches, that transcended wrestling :
Hogan vs Andre - WrestleMania III
Hart vs Austin - WrestleMania 13
Undertaker vs Mankind - King of the Ring 1998
Undertaker vs Brock - WrestleMania XXX

Hogan/Andre Mania 3 Rock/Austin Mania 17 Michaels/Undertaker Mania 25 Cena/Rock Mania 28
Had the top 3 locked down, picking a fourth was tough. Went with Rocky/Cena just because of the magnitude of it how much promotion it got and it being the first real dream match since Rock/Hogan 10 years prior.
