Seeing as it was June 28 yesterday and 19 years to the day that Kane won the WWE Championship and lost the belt to Stone Cold Steve Austin the next night, Kane should've stayed a long-term champion In my opinion, what do you all think if Kane remained Champion had he not lost it the next night after winning it?.

I've always been a big Kane mark. But they booked themselves into a corner. I would have loved a taker/Kane match to have been for the title just once. (Pre-2010)

The only reason why Kane's reign was so short was so Austin could quickly become a 2 time champion.
However it is criminal that he didn't get a long run between 1999 and 2003. He deserved it.

He should have been the most dominant champion the company has ever had.
That version of Kane was the most bad ass character I have ever seen.

Kane was pretty stupid in my opinion. Kane only won to further austin's feud with mcmahon and to get undertaker involved to setup summerslam. Austin being champion and overcoming mcmahon was what was important, not kane.

Kane being a one-day WWF Champion in 1998 made sense. It set the stage for the Summer and furthered the Austin/McMahon feud. If anybody really delves into the storytelling, it made sense to go in this direction. Given how hot the industry was at the time, we ate just about anything the WWF was offering us at the time.
Side note, Steve Austin is the only King Of The Ring winner to lose the WWF Championship (1998) and retain said championship (2001) at the same event.

Kane definitely deserved a longer run with the belt but unfortunately it came out a bad time with the red hot Austin/McMahon feud going on.
