TBF even if the concept art didn't surface because of the style of Hasbros, I would of semi expected Diesel to have his shades on as others in the line did. Also the fact in the early days he wore them a lot when at ringside.

Is it possible that this Diesel head is from the unreleased 12" hasbro line based on the gi joes that we found out about last week?

Wow -- I thought for sure the Mannix Diesel head was the official Orange Card head sculpt ---- guess not! Crazy stuff. The only head sculpt I think we haven't seen then is Bastion Booger.

I suppose there is a chance "Mannix Diesel" is still a hasbro head also!

Maybe the mannix diesel head was scrapped from an earlier series, blue or green card

I can't believe it's well over 2 decades later and these things are actually surfacing.
I envy anyone who has a cool piece like this in their collection.

Really awesome sculpt.
I'm actually glad they went with the sunglasses for him. I may be in the minority, but I always liked entrance gear on my Hasbros. It made them stand out a bit more.

It depends. I loved the jacket on Razor, but I always hated the LOD Spikes. They looked great on display but weren't too great for playing. Like you said, it's hit or miss. Some figures are way too boring w/o any gear and could benefit from the added visuals.

Judging by ebay they'd snap off too, which is weird because I had a ton of them as a kid and never had one snap off!

The Ric Flair figure in my eyes was the worst Hasbro ever made! Needed him wearing his robe and made to look bigger! I hated that mould (123 Kid & Rick Rude)
You are correct some figures needed their entrance gear on to make them work.

The Ric Flair figure in my eyes was the worst Hasbro ever made! Needed him wearing his robe and made to look bigger! I hated that mould (123 Kid & Rick Rude) You are correct some figures needed their entrance gear on to make them work. I never owned him as a kid, but agree that Flair was easily one of the worst figures from the Hasbro line. Start with the poor head sculpt. For the most part, Hasbro was pretty damn good at nailing likenesses, but they mailed it in with Flair. Instead of a smug and cocky expression he looks like a maniacal serial killer with a serious case of caterpillar eyebrows. The body mold choice was also terrible. That Rick Rude buck is absolute trash, even worse than the "jumper" action feature. The muscular pose looked ridiculous on a guy like Flair. Either the Macho Man/Greg Valentine clothesline mold or even the Jake the Snake buck would've looked much better. And I know that Hasbro wasn't known for including too many cloth accessories, but Flair NEEDED a robe. Something similar to the overcoat given to the mail-away Undertaker. I don't think Hasbro was going to make a unique body mold sculpted with the robe on just for Flair. The final product is such a boring action figure which is a shame considering how colorful and charismatic Flair is, it BEGS for a cloth robe. I love Hasbros and think a good majority of them look stunning even today. Still, they definitely cut a few corners and released a few duds. The Hasbro Ric Flair is simply awful.
