There are times when WWE gets things wrong and these are those times, Wrestlemania matches that should've happened. Here are some.
Hogan v. Warrior II, Mania 7: Rumor has it that after Mania 6, Warrior and Hogan would've had a rematch for the WWF Title at mania 7 but with a twist. This time Warrior would be a heel, don't know when it would've happen but if the rumor is true then the Warrior would've have double crossed Hogan at some point before 1991 either at Survivor Series or on a show. Either way Mainia 7 would've been in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and definitely would've been better than they're Halloween Havoc rematch.
Hogan v. Flair, Mania 8: Why didn't this happen? They announced it but then for whatever reason they changed it to Flair v. Savage! No disrespect to Savage but the bigger match was Hogan and Flair.
Razor v. Goldust, Mania 12: Instead of the infamous Hollywood backlot brawl between Rowdy Piper and Goldust (the one where they used the OJ chase footage, nice one Vince) it was originally supposed to be Razor Ramon against Goldust in a Miami Street Fight. To capitalize on Ramon's Cuban background and it probably would have been pretty good, I mean they feuded over the Intercontinental title for a while so the match had a backstory. But due to Hall signing with WCW they scrapped the match and instead we got Piper v. Goldust.
Mankind v. Vader, Mania 13: What could've been, sure it wouldn't been as good as Austin v. Hart at that Mania but would be pretty close. I mean this is the man Foley lost his ear to, these two guys had WARS during their WCW days so they would've had a good match at Mania. So why didn't it happen? Oh right, because people would've been remind of WCW.
Hart v. Michaels II, Mania 13: I think we all know why this didn't happen and in a way I'm kinda glad. I mean, don't get me wrong I would like a Mania rematch between these two but when a better match between Hart and Austin, well I can handle not having this rematch. Plus Shawn still would've lost his smile anyways.
Austin v. Hart II, Mania 14: Had Bret stayed and not jumpship to WCW, he would've done the honors for old Stone Cold and dropped the belt to Austin at Mania 14. Not as bloody as their last encounter but just as exciting.
Austin v. Hogan, Mania 18: Why? Why didn't this happen? Listen I like Rock v. Hogan but Austin v. Hogan would've been so much better! The two biggest star of their eras facing each other one on one at the Granddaddy of them all!! The crowd would be split down the middle as for who to cheer for!! And in the end people would regard Mania X8 as one of the best Wrestlemania's just because of this match. Well I would've
Sting v. Taker, Mania 27: Remember when WWE hyped the hell out of 2.11.12? What could that date reveal after weeks of hype by the WWE machine? Was someone returning? Was someone debuting? People started going crazy over those 3 little numbers and then they showed us a mysterious cabin located in parts unknown , with thunder crashing and rain begining to pour. A dark man with an even darker past lurking in the shadows. He donned a trench coat and long hair and immediately people began to speculate that we were about to witness the annual return of the Undertaker for his WrestleMania match. But others thought a new cowboy was about to enter the saloon. The man they called Sting.
Sting in WWE? The last major holdout not to make the jump from WCW. The franchise and most loyal employee of the fallen company would now grace a WWE ring. It was unfathomable! And not for nothing, a time when the company could have really used another major attraction. (I mean The 'censored'cking miz was WWE Champion for god's shake!!) Well to make a long story short, Sting stayed in TNA, the man in the cabin turned out to be The Undertaker and this was all a set up for Triple H to also make a triumphant return to the company after a long layoff on screen in 2010. But could you have imagined what would've happened if Sting were the one in the shadows? People would've flipped out and by god so would I if it were the case. But alas we can only dream, thanks Dixie.
So what are some of your Wrestlemania matches that never happened? Let me know down below and sorry for such the long post!
