Since they released Isaac Yankem on the TRU website and will be doing the same with Virgil, I'm wondering if this might be a better way for us (those of us collectors who like Legends figures) to get more Legends figures made. That way they don't sit gathering dust on store shelves, but enough are stocked for us to order them online without too many issues.
Thoughts?

Where was it said Virgil was to be online only? I assumed he was in Elite 54 or 55
Yankem was a SDCC exclusive btw, never intended for stores.

Is Yankem an online exclusive? I wouldn't be a fan of this model going forward as it obligates us legends collectors to pay extra for shipping.
I wouldn't mind as long as a decent amount of stock was sent to stores as well.

I bought him with two basic figures, and you get free shipping if you buy at least $35 worth.

Shockmaster was the same last year. Shared with mattycollector.com

TRU.com does make it possible to be notified when something becomes in-stock, but it has to be on the site first, and I just found out about Yankem being on there by chance looking on here. But what if I look too late for Virgil? I'd be upset about that.

I was worried he wouldnt come out until 2018

That happened with Yankem.

I don't buy anything but the retro line, but this would be a great sign if it starts happening for certain figures. I would much rather pay shipping for stuff than waste my time running around to stores and not finding anything. And like said, most places offer free shipping if you order x amount.

That will suck if Virgil will be an online Exclusive. If it is just a TRU exclusive showing up in stores as well as on-line it would be better as I like to check paint applications when buying a figure whenever possible.

I'm honestly surprised RSC hasn't started an Exclusive "Legends" line.
Unless the popularity truly isn't there for an entire line and would cost both Mattel/Ringside.

It would be cool if several of the websites got more exclusive Legends figures yes.

Good, I'm tired of hea ring about how hard it is the get Legends. On a related note, how long do you guys think it will take Mattel to completely move away from articulated basics? I assume that by sdcc 2018 we will lose waist rotation and wrist hinges.

Ringside really already does their version of Matty Collector, only they have their sh*t way more together than Digital River ever did. If they would add like 2 more figures a year and a subscription option it could essentially be the same thing. I prefer how they do it though because I'd rather pay a little more to avoid subbing for stuff I don't want and then have to sell, which was always my problem with MOTU. It doesn't matter to me how they do it. If it's a figure I want, I'm going to figure out how to get it. TRU Exclusives are pretty much the easiest of the store exclusive to get your hands on because they have a solid website. So I'm fine with them getting more exclusives, both in-store and/or online. For me, it goes TRU, Target, Walgreens, and in the way, way, back, Walmart. Walmart.

I don' think it will ever be hard to get a legend again. Kurt, and Hulk aside, there really aren't any names that people are crying to get.
