After all this time without The Authority to provide the backbone to the programming I think it's to redebut The Authority. We can all agree WWE has been severely lacking lately and A possible Authority Return Angle would be what WWE needs for it. for it

That faction lasted for 2-3 years, there's no need to bring it back when it wasn't great in the first place. Don't need the Authority to come back and bully Reigns and try to make us cheer for him, because he's the underdog for 100th time.

Yes!! The Commissioners should come together and join forces against the General Managers. A cross-branded feud during the Brand split could be entertaining. Team Stephanie vs. Team Bryan and Team Shane vs. Team Angle would make for great Survivor Series matches. Make this mega feud crossover into NXT, and have Triple H join the McMahons, and William Regal join the General Managers.

I'd prefer to see more of an Evolution style stable running roughshod and doing whatever they want with World Title in tow.
The show is definitely hurting without conflict. The authority brought conflict to multiple segments of the show. It's fine to not have that but then you have to replace it with more individual conflicts and that's where WWE is really struggling right now imo. There is such a lack of definitive protagonist vs antagonist conflict on the show because everyone is kind of a tween. It makes you not care who wins and loses.

Not unless they learn how to make the show not about them, which seems virtually impossible.

Not unless they learn how to make the show not about them, which seems virtually impossible. That's the trouble they have - babyface authority figures are always benign and bland, heel authority figures have to be power-hungry and make the show all about them, and a wrestling show without authority figures feels incomplete.

I know I'm not going to explain this as well as I'd like. But...
Personally, I'd like for WWE to do anyway with Shane & Steph as on screen characters. Blur the lines more between reality and storylines. Have all the McMahons on the same page (family feud is very played out) and working more as a booking committee along with Vince. They make all the decisions a group. Have it that we only see any of the McMahon's on rare occasions. Like an instance where something very bad has happened and an emergency meeting will be taking place. They can be shown arriving to the arena for the meeting.
Then they can pass down decisions to Angle & Bryan. Show that Kurt and Bryan don't always agree with what they are being forced to implement, but they have a job to do sorta thing. Now they can make decisions that aren't very popular with the fans without getting any heat.
Occasionally when someone crosses the line, they are called into a meeting with the committee. But all we see is the door. The dreaded door. Where when you go in, you are coming out with good news, or very bad news. NEVER show us what happens once inside the door.
Fans nowadays know better than to think Shane & Steph hate each other. Fans nowadays know too much with the backstage dealings with WWE. So by doing it this way, you get more focus on Kurt & Bryan. Less focus and Shane & Steph. You get Shane out of matches. And you give the fans a little bit more of a realistic look at WWE. And it's something we've yet to see.

I feel like the last two GM's to actually do the job well were Bischoff and Heyman.. and that was over 13 years ago.
The Authority started off fine, but got insufferable, especially once the Bryan angle was over

They could've still had Rollins as Hunter's protege but he didn't need The Authority behind him.

Only if they're a proper stable. Have HHH and Steph in charge with a bunch of young guys as their allies in the group.
Also people who hated the Authority shouldn't forget that they played a huge part in getting Bryan over. Him overcoming them was by far one of the best storylines in recent years.
