I would totally buy him as either the Genius or Leaping Lanny. I do agree that he probably won't be made along with many other guys. Cost wise you can reuse every part but his head and make a robe so shortpacking him I wouldn't think would be that budget consuming.

That's what I am saying. Sometimes it isn't about what sales best, it is just about getting "new" or "different" figures out. I don't buy every version of the current guys but I do buy every first time in line figure because I support them giving us different figures, no matter the time frame. Exactly my local Smyths is full of reduced flashbacks that no one wants so if Mattel cared about who sells best then Flashbacks would've been canelled years ago. It does though explain why there wasn't that many Flashbacks shown at SDCC. Flashbacks are a hit among collectors. Everybody else? Not so much.

The Jakks Genius figure was awesome. I'm sure Mattel would make a good one as well. Tops on my want list!

I sure hope we get a genius figure, I’m getting kind of sick of the same old guys. There are plenty of golden era guys who haven’t been made that deserve figures and the genius is one of them. We have two cowboy bob Orton figures, not that I’m complaining, But with that logic we should be able to get both a leaping Lanny and a genius figure.

I just don't think it would sell very well if at all. I don't know where they would even put his figure lineup wise Throw him in a battle pack with Hennig.

I'd buy one as well. Either as an individual elite figure or in a two pack with either Mr. Perfect (different colored tights than what we have received so far, either the green and black from Survivor Series 89 or the blue trunks with stripes on one of the legs) or Macho Man/King Randy Savage (also in different tights than what we have received so far). You could also do a three pack with him Randy and Angelo but I think the two-packs would sell better. Or a three-pack with the Beverly Brothers though I haven't seen a lot of people on this forum asking for them, and there are a lot of other legends tag teams I would want before them. I also wouldn't mind a three-pack of the Genius, Mr. Perfect, and Hulk Hogan with the broken winged eagle belt from the 1989 Saturday Night Main Event match - I think this three-pack would sell the best and be a good way for WWE to test the waters on how fans will react to Hogan. If they do go with just an individual elite figure, best bet would to have him as a Ringside Collectibles exclusive that way you don't have to worry about him clogging the shelves or not, if they can make a Red Rooster, Shark, Isaac Yankem, etc. I don't see why they can make a limited run of the Genius.

I would buy him and any golden era or classic wrestler or manager that Mattel produces.
I can't wait to add Giant Machine, Red Rooster, King Harley, Ron Simmons and JJ Dillon to my collection. (The Shark is dumb though, sorry not feeling that one Mattel, lol). Those are the only figures I'll probably buy this year -- or whenever they come out. (I don't buy repaints or modified reissues).
I think its ridiculous that classic golden era guys like Hercules, Haku, Greg Valentine, Don Muraco, Mr. Fuji and Capt. Lou don't have figures and then we get a Scotty Too Hotty, lol.

If there's any way to make it a battle pack with Mr. Perfect, I can't see it warming shelves at all.

I'm sure he'd fly off shelves with the amount of people who know who he is in 2018.

I hate post like this of figs that will never get made and people know that I'm sorry do you work for mattel? please by all means lets discuss the next 25 roman reign figures and 500th cena set to release in 2020. it's a forum to discuss figures and hopefully ones that might get made. That's why there is a Mattel Suggestion Box forum. No need to continuously clutter the main forum with hypotheticals and "what ifs." Otherwise, we might as well get rid of the Suggestion Box forum.

Tito is one of the better figures Mattel has made. Didnt sell well with the kiddies, but it's a great figure.

What an odd thread to bump This. IF it happened, it'd be just like the Tito figure that choked the life out of my local Target shelves.

I would buy one to go with my Mr. Perfect and as a thank you to Lanny without whom we would not have seen any Macho Man figures made. He owns the rights to Macho Man trademark and the only reason Mattel keeps pumping out figures is because he agreed to sign a Legends deal with WWE. If I were him, I would have included a condition in the contract that I only sign if they agree to make a Genius figure.

IF it happened, it'd be just like the Tito figure that choked the life out of my local Target shelves. I understand why people think he wouldn't sell well, but perhaps, Target isn't the place. Honestly, I see more warming at Target than any place, whether it was Tito, Tugboat, Regal, etc. For some reason, Walmart and Toys R Us doesn't have that problem around me. For instance, the Flashback Elites sold very well in my area. Yokozuna, Syxx, Gene, etc. haven't been on regular WWE TV for years either, but they sold just fine. The Tito distribution problem aside, I think Target would do a lot better with some of their warming throwback figures if they would do a better job with their discounts.
