What superstars do you think can never play the opposite. Such as like (Blank) is a great heel but I don't think he could (or is) a good face.
I feel like Edge under the Rated R persona was a horrible face and I never liked face as the Rated R Superstar. I also felt Cm Punk is face material after the 2011 shoot.
I always feel like Randy Orton after the Viper face run of 2010-2011 was really stale. Orton as character after 2011 got stale to me. And I feel even with the face turn in 2015, he can't reprise it.

I have a hard time imagining Kevin Owens as a face but that could be a bias because I think he is so damn good as a heel that I don't want him to flip.
I can't really see Sami Zayn as a heel.
On the women's side, I don't really see Becky Lynch as a heel and I'm not sure Alexa Bliss would be nearly as interesting as a face.
And there's this guy in NXT by the name of Bobby Roode that is a glorious heel but at this point of his career I don't think he would work as a face... unless he reunited with a certain beer drinking tag partner currently serving time elsewhere.

Miz. His face run was horrible.
Triple H. Whether he's face or heel, he's the same character. He's the cool, cocky heel or the cool, cocky face.
Sting. Can only play face. Even when he was supposed to be heel in the MEM he couldn't fully commit.

I personally always thought Randy Orton was bland and only got either cheap heat, dead heat, or "go away" heat (I refuse to use Waltmans name because he was to good to get saddled with that terminology)
Sid can only be heel. People made fun of him because the rumor was the WWF wanted to make him the next Hogan and he said he was better as a monster heel, which is true. Sid knows who he is.

Agree with Sting working mainly as a face and Sid as a heel. Both great!

I wasn't feeling HBK being a heel in the Summer of 2005. With the whole I found god thing/christian HBK it didn't really work.

Shawn Michaels as a face I couldn't buy and was someone I didn't like about his 00's run. His entire cocky character screamed hated heel.

Ravishing Rick Rude - a man who loved himself, could back it up with the physique and hated all the fans. Couldn't imagine him with humilty or being a hand slapping, smiling happy face. Even in WCW, he was tough and serious and I don't think that always translates well as a face either.
Ricky Steamboat - a typical everybody-gets-behind-him-niceguy. I think everyone knew that Steamboat was a genuinely nice guy and I couldn't have ever imagined him as a heel.
I remember on the SvR video games, in General Manager mode, I would always have HHH, HBK, Orton and Angle as heels.
I also agree that Miz should never have been turned face and neither should have Del Rio, while Sami Zayn is, like Steamboat, too likeable to ever turn.

Sting for sure......when WCW tried to turn him in 99 it was a friggin disaster. He was the first guy I thought of when I seen the thread title. Steamboat is another good shout.
