I can't forgive Bill and MDT for choosing to make these iconic surfer Stings as basics...

I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't care if the figures attire isnt 100% accurate and directly from a specific event. ..Also I don't care if a series is "spotlighting the network" or if the figure is from a "defining moment" in wrestling, "hall of fame" or "then, or now, or forever".....just give me flashbacks as many ways as possible without creating unnecessary limitations. I 100% agree... With one exception. Give me WrestleMania 7 Liz.

I really dislike when figures are made based on promo pics and not matches, but I'm just glad we got a new Sting scan that I really like. The first Surfer head was horrific imo, this is fantastic. Here's hoping for a pink elite Surfer! The use of the below Savage promo pic for merchandise drives me crazy. I hate the yellow frames on the glasses and the trunks with no stars. Yes, I know he wore trunks like that but that's a horrible look for Savage merchandise in imo. With you 100%. Who's in charge of this at Mattel/WWE? Inexcusable in my opinion.

I'm still hoping we get one based on the blue tights galoob figure, I can never get enough surfer stings though.

I have only seen pics of him in that exact attire/face paint combination in a few promo pics. I don't recall an actual match where he had that exact combination of attire/face paint When was this title in service? As that would narrow down the year...as this is the exact look. Unless I am mistaken this title was used when Flair went to the WWE in '90/91 with the big gold title. So I think it would be from around then (early 90's) Has Mattel or Jakks released a belt like what Sting is wearing in these photos?

Has Mattel or Jakks released a belt like what Sting is wearing in these photos? No. Closest I can think of is the belt that came with the old OSFTM Hogan figures. Credit: eBay seller daniel5148

Mattel does this all the time where they use promo pics as reference. It was the whole Eddie debacle, where the black and gold were switched and people had no idea where they came from. In a way I want a basic rerelease of the American bash DM sting, but with this head to swap onto the DM. Hopefully Mattel has learned a thing or two about our dislike for the parts chosen for Sting.

The attire/photo was from March '92 to July '92 which was his first WCW title reign. His 2nd was only 6 days so I doubt they had time to do a photoshoot during that. He didnt hold the WCW Title again until he beat Hogan at Starrcade 97

I dont care either. Ive always thought its dumb to put so much emphasis on having a roman reigns from raw in Minneapolis or a kalisto from the summerslam pre show. Just give me a figure that looks good and if the boots arent perfectly accurate so be it
