Probably just the house environment while watching the 1998 or 2002 SummerSlam's with friends. Especially 1998, that was a great time.

HBKs return in 2002. Nothing will top the hype for it.
I've never been the biggest HBK fan, but as a kid I was hyped as hell to see him return after being gone for 4.5 years. The fact that the match is arguably still SSs greatest match shows the hype was worth it.

Brock's title win in 2002, HBK's return in 2002, Bret vs. Undertaker in 1997 and Bret vs. Davey will always be my top favorite moments. But as far as underrated moments, I still love SummerSlam 1998 to this day. Austin vs. Taker is one of my favorite matches. I know Austin has gone on record saying he was really disappointed in the match because he got knocked out early and pretty much just was able to go through the motions after that, but I still think it was a really underrated match. Austin and Taker always worked well together, and Austin getting a clean win against Taker at that time was absolutely huge.

All of 2006, 2009, and 2011 as I was at all 3. But other than that, some single moments that stand out are Orton beating Undertaker in 2005 & Batista beating Cena in 2008

I didn't follow much of wrestling after Shawn dropped the belt to Austin in 98. I still tuned into Nitro to see Jericho because I was huge fan of his from ECW and once I heard Jericho was the countdown in the dirt sheets i watched it. But i had kind of been done with watching weekly and getting ppvs. But my friend who had stuck with wrestling and watched it weekly, told me that I had to start watching Brock matches when he came in. So he showed me a few and I liked them. The more and more I saw of him I just thought I had to see it live. Sure enough the first ppv I watched live since that Wrestlemania with Shawn dropped the title was SummerSlam 02 with his return and Brock going over in the main event. So SummerSlam 02 kind of rejuvenated my interest in watching. I still didn't go back to watching it weekly but I got a ppv here and there up until Goldberg coming in. I hate Goldberg so much that I stopped watching all together again. But SummerSlam 02 will hold a special place for me.

Standouts for me personally were;
- 2001, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Kurt Angle. I loved everything about this feud and I think it was the first time I'd seen a finish go like this. Angle, despite not winning, came out looking a million dollars, and being 10 years old I absolutely bought into the whole story that Angle was the one man that Austin simply couldn't beat.
- 2002, The Rock vs Brock Lesnar. At the time, I was still fairly unaware that Rock was off to Hollywood, and while it was the start of seemingly being able to begin putting the pieces together and working out where things were heading, I still remember being nervous about this match and loved seeing Lesnar get the job done. It felt like a new era had begun when he won that Title, he was the first 'non-attitude era' star of my childhood to win the WWE Championship.
- 2004, Chris Benoit vs Randy Orton. I remember falling asleep during the Main Event, just after their entrances despite staying up purely to watch this Main Event. I suddenly woke up (probably around 3:55am UK time) and Orton was standing there with the World Heavyweight Championship on his shoulder shaking Benoit's hands. I marked out like mad for the next few week, watching it over and over again.
- 2013, John Cena vs Daniel Bryan. This was how heel turns should be done. While it was frustrating to see Daniel Bryan get robbed after finally winning the big one against the face of the Company in the Main Event of Summerslam, I loved the Orton & Triple H turn that followed.
- 2014, John Cena vs Brock Lesnar. Summerslam has had some huge Main Events, Wrestlemania scaled Main Events at that, and this was one of them. Lesnar's first appearance since shockingly ending the Undertaker's streak, and finally seeing him win both Championships in the most emphatic of ways never seen before. We all knew around the time Lesnar was more or less going to win it, but man, this Match created a Star like nobody had ever seen in the history of the company before. Between 2014 & 2016, I don't think anybody has been as realistically unbeatable as what Lesnar became, and I loved every single minute of it. I know it's become rinse repeat since then, but when this was fresh it was too good.
Disapointment's;
- 2003, Elimination Chamber. I was hugely surprised to see Goldberg not win the Title at this Summerslam, especially considering he won it at the next PPV. Soured the PPV for me at the time.
- 2006, Hulk Hogan vs Randy Orton. I thought this should have Main Evented, and I thought Orton had to win regardless. This would have been the ultimate name on the Legend Killer list.
- 2007, Triple H vs King Booker. Disapointing, anti-climatic return to say the least.
- 2015, Brock Lesnar vs Undertaker. This made zero sense in my opinion, especially since Lesnar had already ended the streak and would go on to do the double over him inside Hell in a Cell a few months later. The last thing I wanted was to see Lesnar finally lose, and the way it went down with the screwy finish was just strange.

SummerSlam 1992: Loved WWE in 1992, and SS from England was a huge deal at the time.
SummerSlam 2006: Not a highly-rated SS, but I traveled from Palm Beach, FL to Boston (farthest I've been just to go to wrestling - I like to stay local), to see what ended up as Hulk Hogan's last match in WWE.

Angle v Austin 2001 comes to mind first. It was the best match those two had and the right guy won in the dumbest way possible. But Jesus that match is an absolute favorite of mine.

LMFAO! I actually contemplated posting that video (and possibly additionally the "Bizarre" British Bulldog Royal Rumble arrival) in my post, but I honestly figured someone would take care of at least the one with that little kid's AMAZING promo.
